Octagos announced the launch of Ask Atlas, a new AI intelligence capability allowing cardiac device clinics to query their own remote monitoring data using natural language.

Built on Atlas AI, the intelligence layer of the Octagos platform, Ask Atlas gives care teams a faster and more intuitive way to understand what is happening across their patient population, workflows, and clinic operations. Instead of relying on static reports, data tables, manual chart review, or custom analytics requests, clinicians and administrators can ask direct questions and receive clear, structured answers within seconds.

Ask Atlas is designed for the realities of modern device clinics, where care teams are managing growing transmission volumes, complex patient populations, disconnected workflows, and increasing pressure to do more with limited clinical resources.

Ask Atlas was previewed at the Heart Rhythm Society meeting in April 2026, where Octagos presented a new way for device clinics to interact with their own data.

“Remote monitoring has given clinicians more data than ever before, but access to data is not the same as understanding it,” said Dr. Shanti Bansal, founder and CEO of Octagos. “Ask Atlas gives care teams a way to ask the questions that matter in real time. That kind of direct access to their own data changes how a care team can understand, manage, and act on its own information.”

Also Read: Canvas Medical Launches Studio to Enable Clinicians and Operators to Customize and Extend EMR Workflows in Canvas

Octagos pioneered human-in-the-loop AI in cardiac remote monitoring through its Two-Brain Approach, a model powered by Atlas AI and strengthened by IBHRE-certified human expertise. Atlas AI assists in the rapid interpretation of cardiac device transmissions by surfacing clinically relevant findings and structuring reports for efficient review. IBHRE-certified specialists provide clinical oversight and expertise. In peer-reviewed data published in JACC: Advances, Octagos’ Two-Brain Approach demonstrated greater than 99% specificity, sensitivity, and accuracy, significantly outperforming human experts alone.

Ask Atlas brings natural language data access to device clinic operations, allowing clinicians to query recorded clinical and operational data held in the Octagos platform. The tool allows clinicians, administrators, and operational leaders to ask complex questions across their full remote monitoring dataset, including device transmissions, EHR data, clinical context, follow-up activity, workflow status, and billing information using natural language.

Example questions Ask Atlas can answer:

“Which ICD patients have an EF <30% and are not on GDMT?”

“Which patients received ICD shocks in the past 30 days without a scheduled follow-up?”

“Which patients’ AF burden was over 2% and are not on anticoagulants?”

“What is the average battery longevity of our devices by manufacturer and model?”

“Which remote monitoring events qualified for billing but have not been e-signed?”

“AI has changed what people expect from technology: it should help people understand what matters and act on it,” said Haley Chute, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at Octagos. “That same shift is happening in cardiac remote monitoring. Since 2020, Atlas AI has helped device clinics streamline workflows, accelerate clinical reporting, and improve patient care. Ask Atlas advances that vision by helping care teams surface insights in their own data at the moment of need, bringing them closer to the answers and context they need to care for patients.”

Canvas Medical, the EMR company accelerating everyday medicine, announced the launch of Canvas Studio, a no code interface powered by Claude Code and the Canvas software developer kit (SDK). Studio lets clinicians and staff build custom electronic medical record (EMR) workflows that act as plugins within the Canvas-certified (CEHRT) platform, enabling safe and effective automation across clinical, operational and financial tasks. Users can design, deploy and iterate using natural language, with no command-line tools or developer expertise required.

Building custom EMR workflows is notoriously labor-intensive, given the rigidity of existing systems and the complexity of healthcare data architecture and integration frameworks. Canvas solves this with its SDK and Deep Unified Data Architecture, dramatically lowering the cost for healthcare organizations to build their own custom EMR on the Canvas platform. With Studio, the final barrier is removed: any end user can extend and customize the EMR without software engineering skills. What once required a multi-year project involving engineers, product managers and designers can now be completed by clinicians and staff in a few hours.

A primary care practice, for example, can use Studio to align the requirements of value-based care programs they participate in with coding automation in their visit notes. A psychiatry practice could build custom visualizations of PHQ-9 or GAD-7 survey results, and automate tasks for patient follow-up based on specified quantitative thresholds of results. A weight-loss practice could create context-aware automation of GLP-1 treatment plans, enabling standing orders for common treatment programs. These reduce costly back and forth within the practice and reduce cognitive burden on clinicians, allowing the care team to operate at the top of their license while removing administrative costs.

“Unlocking the benefits of healthcare AI in traditional medical groups and specialty practices requires the right tools and context to be available to agents,” said Adam Farren, CEO of Canvas Medical. “We’ve built the Canvas SDK to provide that, and Studio unlocks this value for end users. Clinicians and staff can apply their domain expertise to create more personalized and adaptable EMR workflows. In the immediate term, we expect a lot more EMR customization to happen a lot faster, and beyond that, we expect our customers to begin using their specific clinical and operational knowledge to start building their own custom agents.”

Key capabilities of Studio include:

Deep access to context: Built on the Canvas platform, Studio gives access to the structured patient data, clinical workflows and controls that make up a patient’s medical record.

Best-in-class AI-assisted coding tools: Studio is built with Anthropic’s tools and models, and will continue to improve as the quality and efficiency of models for AI-assisted coding get better.

Natural language interface: Users describe what they want to build in words, and Studio generates code, deploys to a sandbox instance and enables rapid iteration without command-line tools or developer environment setup.

Agentic workflow automation: Plugins built in Studio can integrate directly with large language models and third-party AI services to automate clinical, operational and financial workflows.

Open source reference plugins: Canvas has published a library of prebuilt, open source reference plugins that serve as a jumping-off point for users of Studio to build their own tailored versions, quickly and effectively.

Trisk Bio and NanoMosaic have announced a strategic partnership to integrate NanoMosaic’s Tessie analytics platform into Trisk Bio’s adeno-associated virus (AAV) development and manufacturing workflows. The collaboration will support process development, quality control, and release testing services across Trisk’s gene therapy manufacturing operations. Trisk adopted the Tessie platform ahead of its broader market recognition and prior to the FDA CBER granting the technology an Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) designation in January 2026 the first such recognition in AAV analytics. The companies believe the partnership will help improve the accuracy of measuring critical quality attributes in gene therapy manufacturing, an area where traditional analytics can produce inconsistent results.

“We are pleased to see the FDA validate the advantages that have been clear to us from our first engagements with NanoMosaic,” said Gaurav Venkataraman, Trisk Bio CEO. “Trisk is oriented around helping our clients become successful by providing high-quality material and de-risking manufacturing from the start. Legacy AAV analytics can misread critical quality attributes by orders of magnitude. It’s critical that our clients’ programmes rest on technology yielding the most accurate possible measurements.”

Basata, the AI company rebuilding the operational layer of US healthcare, announced a $21 million Series A led by Basis Set Ventures, with participation from Cowboy Ventures, PHX Ventures, Zenda Capital, and Victoria Treyger. The round brings total funding to $24.5 million.

Basata’s AI agents handle the administrative work still running on fax machines and phone calls, like referrals, intake, patient scheduling, and follow-up end to end. A referral arrives by fax, Basata extracts the patient details and creates a chart in the EHR, an AI voice agent calls the patient, and the appointment is booked in minutes instead of weeks. The company has served more than 500,000 patients to date, including 100,000 in the past month, and works with providers some of the largest specialty groups in the country across cardiology, urology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and growing.

Practices using Basata process 100% of incoming referrals the same day, unlock 50% more administrative labor capacity, and reduce time-to-first-patient-contact from weeks to minutes. Roughly 70% of new sales come from customer referrals.

“Healthcare administration is one of the most consequential and least supported workforces in America,” said Kaled Alhanafi, co-founder and CEO of Basata. “We didn’t build Basata to replace administrators. We built it for them. ‘Basata’ is Arabic for simplicity, and that is what these teams deserve.”

Also Read: Ibex Medical Analytics Establishes Biopharma Advisory Board to Advance AI-Powered Precision Diagnostics

Basata’s founding team came together around a shared conviction that healthcare’s biggest failures aren’t clinical, they’re operational. The country’s clinicians and administrators are world-class; the tools they have been handed are not. CEO Kaled Alhanafi lost his mother as a young adult to a healthcare administrative error. Co-founder Chetan, a former principal engineer at Medtronic, watched his wife wait months to see a cardiologist. Co-founder Vivin, a Computer Science PhD, saw his wife endure the same broken referral process.

That conviction shapes how the company builds. “Our Forward-Deployed Engineer returned from two weeks onsite at a customer site, eyes bloodshot, after manually processing referrals and faxes all day,” said Chetan Patel, co-founder and president of Basata. “It proved that if you aren’t in the trenches, you’ll never grasp how intense this workload is. Building in a bubble fails. We design tech that works because we are on the ground with our customers. This is why so many practices are trusting us with their workflows.”

Customers feel the difference. “Before Basata, we regularly had a backlog of 500+ unprocessed referrals, some waiting for months,” said Rich Bondi, CEO of Southwest Cardiovascular Associates. “Once Basata came in, the backlog went to zero. We’ve seen an 18% boost in new patient conversions because patients are contacted right away. Basata truly transformed our patient care.”

The new funding will enable Basata to scale what’s already working in tackling the $1 trillion operational layer of US healthcare end to end, replacing the patchwork of point solutions practices have stitched together with a single system built alongside the administrators who use it every day.

“It’s 2026, self-driving cars can navigate my city, but patients still have to fight through hold music and fax machines to get care,” said Alhanafi. “That’s the disconnect we’re fixing. In the next decade, healthcare operations will become fully autonomous. Intake, scheduling, coordination, and billing will just happen in the background, and patients will finally experience what exceptional healthcare actually feels like.”

Ibex Medical Analytics, the global leader in clinical-grade AI-powered pathology, announced the appointment of Ruth March, PhD and Paolo Tarantino, MD, PhD to its newly established Biopharma Advisory Board. Dr. Tarantino and Dr. March are the first members of the Advisory Board, with additional experts expected to join in the coming months.

The formation of the Advisory Board reflects Ibex’s strategic expansion into biopharma and its commitment to partnering with industry leaders to advance AI-driven biomarker development and precision diagnostics. As oncology rapidly evolves toward antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and other targeted therapies, the need for precise, reproducible biomarker quantification and scoring has become increasingly critical.

OpenEvidence, the most widely used medical AI and clinical decision-support platform among U.S. physicians, announced the release of Dotflows, enabling clinicians to tailor the platform to the way they uniquely practice medicine.

Evidence-based medicine is universal—but its application is not. Clinical practice is shaped by differences in specialty, care setting, patient population, and individual preference, and supporting high-quality care means embracing this diversity. In traditional EHRs, dot phrases begin to address this need by allowing clinicians to define and share simple copy/paste text and templates. Dot phrases have become a valuable part of many clinicians’ practice, supporting personalized workflows that match the way each provider practices.

Dotflows represent the extension of dot phrases for full natural language customization in the AI-native era. Dotflows are reusable natural language prompts that customize how OpenEvidence responds. This simple concept enables a wide range of customization and personalization capabilities, expanding to the limits of clinician creativity. Some example uses include personalizing the response style, pre-defining recurring clinical context, and running structured workflows. Clinicians can create their own Dotflows or browse Dotflows shared and used by other clinicians in the community.

“The value of any clinical tool depends on how well it fits into the way a clinician actually practices,” said Dr. Mondira Ray, SVP of Clinical Informatics at OpenEvidence. “Dotflows let users define that fit, encoding their personal styles and mental models into the platform itself.”

Clinicians invoke Dotflows by typing “.” in the search bar, or by setting them as defaults for all queries. Over time, these reusable commands enable OpenEvidence to become increasingly aligned with each clinician’s preferences and practice patterns.

The release also establishes a living library of community-created Dotflows. Clinicians can browse the library, clone Dotflows from the library, and share their own Dotflows with the broader community.
