Anthropic has unveiled a new suite of finance-focused AI agents designed to automate some of the most time-consuming workflows in banking, insurance, and enterprise finance operations. The announcement marks a major expansion of Anthropic’s enterprise AI strategy, positioning its Claude platform as a core operating layer for financial services organizations.

The company introduced ten ready-to-run AI agent templates capable of handling tasks such as pitchbook creation, financial statement analysis, credit memo preparation, Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews, underwriting support, and month-end financial close processes. These agents are integrated into Claude Cowork, Claude Code, and Claude Managed Agents, enabling financial institutions to deploy AI-driven workflows in days instead of months.

Anthropic has also expanded Claude’s financial ecosystem through integrations with enterprise data providers and Microsoft 365 applications. Now the platform can be used on Excel Outlook PowerPoint, and Word at the same time without losing the workflow context from one application to another. In this way, analysts and finance teams can automate research, reporting, and collaboration with improved efficiency.

The company’s move into finance is a reaction to the exponentially rising demand for AI-based enterprise operations. Anthropic noted that financial services are now its second-largest enterprise sector after technology and that companies like Goldman Sachs Citi Visa, and AIG are already using Claude-based solutions.

At the same time, Anthropic is working with providers of financial infrastructure such as FIS to develop AI-powered agents that could assist in conducting anti-money laundering and fraud detection investigations. These systems, while ensuring human intervention for the final decision, can independently collect and scrutinize transaction data.

Also Read: PwC and OpenAI Partner to Build AI-Native Finance Function, Reshaping the Future of Fintech

Implications for the IT Industry

Anthropic’s expansion into financial services signals a major shift in the IT industry toward verticalized, agentic AI platforms. Rather than simply selling standardized AI assistants, vendors are now turning to build industry-specific agents capable of carrying out domain-specific workflows with very little human intervention.

These developments on the AI front will require IT leaders to take on different initiatives focusing on AI orchestration, enterprise integration, and governance. Financial institutions, being in deeply regulated environments, need their AI systems not only to be securely integrated with the existing infrastructure but also to be maintainable in terms of compliance and auditability.

The advent of finance agents additionally points to the changeover from traditional automation to AI-native enterprise architectures. Instead of just helping users, agentic systems can even think through workflows, communicate with several applications, and perform actions with very little supervision.

Furthermore, Anthropic’s collaboration with Microsoft 365 and financial data providers shows how critical interoperable AI ecosystems are becoming. Increasingly, enterprise AI success is getting tied to the extent to which AI platforms are connected with productivity tools, business systems, and proprietary datasets.

The situation will also lead to a further heightening of the competition in the enterprise AI market where players such as OpenAI, Microsoft, and highly specialized fintech startups are competing to become the main AI providers for the financial services industry.

Business Impact and Strategic Value

Finance-related companies and other businesses can greatly benefit from AI agents as they help in significantly enhancing productivity and lowering the cost of operations. Activities which relied heavily on manual work and took a very long time, such as financial analysis, compliance audit, and reporting, can now be completely done or facilitated by AI-based workflows.

Moreover, the capability of AI technology to work through and make sense of information instantly helps a firm make decisions that are both quicker and better. In industries where speed and precision are of paramount importance, this could be a major competitive edge.

Even more, AI agents allow businesses to increase their work capacity without the need to also raise the number of their employees.

On the other hand, using AI systems that operate completely without human intervention also pose certain issues such as concern about oversight, clear understanding, and employment. Banks and other financial services providers should have very well-established monitoring systems to make sure that the results produced by AI are correct, comprehensible, and according to the regulatory requirements.

The Future of AI-Native Finance

Anthropic’s finance agents highlight a defining transformation in enterprise technology: the emergence of AI-driven operational ecosystems capable of executing complex business functions autonomously.

For the IT industry and businesses alike, this development signals a future where AI becomes deeply embedded in core enterprise workflows rather than operating as a standalone productivity tool. Organizations that successfully integrate and govern these systems will be better positioned to improve efficiency, accelerate innovation, and compete in an increasingly AI-native economy.

Temenos has broadened their software-as-a-service capabilities on Amazon Web Services (AWS), allowing banks to provide core banking, digital banking, and payment functions through a single cloud-based platform. This change is a large part of Temenos’ plan to offer banking solutions that are more flexible and composable for financial institutions that are undergoing extensive digital transformation programs.

Thanks to this development, banks across the globe can get an even wider variety of Temenos applications as SaaS on AWS, including not just digital banking and payment services but also the core banking platform. The combined package aims to assist financial institutions in modernizing their operations while giving them the liberty of choosing how they want to adopt cloud technologies. Firms can either implement the modules separately, deploy a full enterprise solution, or integrate Temenos with their existing infrastructure.

This decision represents an increased move in the sector toward banking architectures that are cloud-native and modular so that financial institutions can react more quickly to continuously changing customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Banks, by moving technical management to SaaS environments, have more time for product innovation, customer engagement, and efficiency in operations.

Barb Morgan, Chief Product & Technology Officer at Temenos, said: “We’re delighted to expand our Temenos SaaS offering on AWS, further strengthening our SaaS capabilities and giving banks greater flexibility in deploying Temenos solutions as SaaS in line with their technology strategy and market requirements.”

AWS leaders argued that this partnership allows banks the freedom to change their ways gradually without sacrificing the enterprise-level growth and security that are a hallmark of their operations. Scott Mullins, Managing Director for Worldwide Financial Services at AWS, highlighted that through this significant development, banks can introduce new functionalities either gradually or go through a total transformation.

Market experts also recognize this improvement as part of a broader inclination towards composable banking ecosystems. According to David Albertazzi, Executive Advisor & Director of Retail Banking & Payments Practice at Datos Insights, diversifying a cloud-based banking platform is a move that is driven by a desire for more flexibility while ensuring the very important aspects of compliance, security, and data sovereignty are met.

Existing deployments include organizations such as MidWestOne Bank, Credem, WeLab Bank, and ila Bank.

In a significant move that signals the next phase of enterprise AI adoption, PwC and OpenAI have announced a strategic collaboration to develop what they describe as a “first-of-its-kind” AI-native finance function. This initiative aims to transform how finance teams operate by integrating agentic artificial intelligence with human oversight at an enterprise scale, marking a pivotal shift in the evolution of financial operations.

The partnership focuses on embedding AI agents across core financial workflows, including planning, forecasting, procurement, payments, treasury, tax, and reporting. These AI systems are designed to automate repetitive processes, generate insights, and enhance decision-making while maintaining governance and control through human supervision.

Unlike traditional automation tools, the AI agents being developed through this collaboration are intended to operate dynamically across systems, learning and improving over time. The initiative is also grounded in real-world implementation, with early use cases being tested within OpenAI’s own finance operations before being scaled to enterprise clients.

At its core, the collaboration reflects a broader industry trend: the transition from experimental AI deployments to fully integrated, enterprise-wide systems. By combining PwC’s domain expertise in finance and consulting with OpenAI’s advanced AI capabilities, the initiative aims to redefine the “office of the CFO” into a more strategic, data-driven function capable of delivering predictive insights rather than just historical reporting.

What does this mean for the fintech industry?

The implications for the fintech sector are profound. Fintech companies, which already operate at the intersection of finance and technology, are likely to accelerate their adoption of agentic AI models to remain competitive. This development sets a new benchmark for operational efficiency, where AI is no longer a supporting tool but a core component of financial infrastructure.

First, the introduction of AI-native finance functions could significantly reduce operational costs by automating labor-intensive processes such as reconciliation, compliance checks, and financial reporting. This enables fintech firms to allocate resources toward innovation and customer-centric services rather than back-office functions.

Second, the ability of AI agents to continuously analyze large datasets in real time will enhance risk management and fraud detection capabilities. Financial institutions can move from reactive to proactive strategies, identifying anomalies and potential risks before they escalate. This aligns with broader industry efforts to strengthen governance and improve decision-making through AI-driven insights.

Third, the collaboration highlights a shift toward “agent ecosystems,” where multiple AI systems work together seamlessly across business functions. For fintech companies, this could lead to the development of more integrated platforms that combine payments, lending, compliance, and analytics into unified solutions, ultimately improving customer experiences and operational agility.

Also Read: Customers Bank and OpenAI Partner to Build an AI-Native Commercial Banking Model

Beyond fintech, the impact on businesses across industries is equally significant. Organizations that adopt AI-native finance functions can expect faster financial close cycles, more accurate forecasting, and improved strategic planning. This transformation also redefines the role of finance professionals, shifting their focus from manual processing to higher-value activities such as analysis, strategy, and innovation.

However, the transition is not without challenges. Companies must address concerns related to data security, regulatory compliance, and ethical AI use. The emphasis on human oversight in the PwC-OpenAI model underscores the importance of maintaining accountability and transparency as AI systems become more autonomous.

In the long term, this collaboration may serve as a blueprint for how enterprises integrate AI into critical business functions. As AI adoption continues to scale, companies that successfully combine technology with governance and human expertise are likely to capture a disproportionate share of the value generated by AI.

Ultimately, the PwC and OpenAI partnership represents more than just a technological advancement it signals a fundamental shift in how financial operations are designed and executed. For the fintech industry and beyond, the message is clear: the future of finance will be AI-native, adaptive, and deeply integrated into the fabric of enterprise decision-making.

The newly introduced AI agent is engineered to dramatically accelerate financial crime investigations by automatically gathering and analyzing data across a bank’s core systems, evaluating suspicious activities against known risk patterns, and prioritizing high-risk cases for human investigators, effectively reducing investigation times from hours or even days to just minutes. The solution is expected to significantly lower false positives and operational costs while improving compliance efficiency, addressing one of the most resource-intensive challenges faced by financial institutions globally.

Early adopters, including Bank of Montreal and Amalgamated Bank, are set to pilot the technology ahead of broader availability planned for the second half of 2026. Developed through close collaboration between FIS and Anthropic’s applied AI teams, the agent reflects a broader vision of “agent-first” banking, where autonomous AI systems can augment human decision-making across multiple domains such as customer onboarding, fraud prevention, and credit decisioning. By embedding reasoning-driven AI into financial operations, the partnership aims to create a scalable and replicable model for enterprise AI adoption, enabling banks to enhance accuracy, speed, and regulatory compliance while maintaining human oversight in critical decisions. The move also highlights a growing industry shift toward intelligent automation in financial services, where AI is not just a tool but an active participant in operational workflows, helping institutions better combat increasingly sophisticated financial crimes and adapt to evolving regulatory demands.

As Michael Flynn stated, “Finance leaders are navigating relentless pressure to improve speed, insight and control, while managing mounting complexity and risk. The EY-Rillet Alliance is differentiating precisely because risk management and controls aren’t a separate workstream: they are woven into the transformation from the start. That’s how the Alliance will help clients build finance functions that are not just faster and smarter, but genuinely resilient.”

The partnership adds global payment acceptance to Sokin’s existing multi-currency accounts, FX, and treasury infrastructure, giving businesses a single platform to manage their entire cross-border financial stack.

The offering, now live in the US, will also support clients across Canada, UK, mainland Europe, UAE, Singapore and Australia. Businesses can accept payments through Sokin’s checkout and payment links functionality across more than 35 payment methods, over 170 countries and territories, and charge and settle in multiple currencies.

Most businesses operating internationally run their payment acceptance and their treasury operations on different platforms. That creates reconciliation overhead, high FX costs, and gaps in visibility that compound as transaction volumes grow. The Sokin and Adyen partnership removes that split, unifying payment acceptance with treasury management in a single platform. In an agentic environment, where AI needs to decide, approve, execute, and settle within a single programmable infrastructure, a fragmented payments infrastructure is a structural barrier.

“Businesses growing internationally have always had to stitch together multiple providers just to manage the basics of getting paid and paying out. This partnership closes that gap. One platform, one relationship, one view of your entire cross-border stack. That matters more than ever as AI becomes part of how finance teams actually work,” said Vroon Modgill, founder and CEO of Sokin.

“Expanding into new markets always brings complexity around how businesses can accept and optimise local payments. By partnering with Sokin, we’re helping to remove those barriers and give growing businesses the ability to scale internationally with the confidence that their payment experience is built to perform in every market,” said Adrian Davis, Managing Director Financial Services & Insurance at Adyen. “Through our global network and data-driven insights, our partnership with Sokin will help global businesses continuously optimise how they accept payments, meeting their customers wherever they are.”

The partnership launches as Sokin continues a period of significant growth. The company has grown revenues more than eightfold since 2022, closed a Series B funding round in late 2025, and secured a $100 million debt facility in January 2026. Sokin launched its stablecoin capabilities in March 2026, creating a unified finance platform for digital assets and traditional currencies. The company is backed by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, Prysm Capital and counts PayPal veterans among its board and investor group.

Trustpair, the leading platform for automated vendor payment fraud prevention, and Coupa, the leading platform for autonomous spend management, announced an expansion of their partnership to help organizations better protect vendor payments amid a surge in AI-driven fraud and growing compliance requirements. Building on their collaboration first announced in 2024, Trustpair is available as a certified solution in the Coupa App Marketplace for the Coupa Platform.

The expanded partnership enables organizations to automate global bank account ownership verification directly within their procurement and finance workflows. By embedding Trustpair’s verification and fraud intelligence capabilities inside Coupa’s platform, joint customers can validate vendor banking information at scale and reduce the risk of payment fraud caused by vendor impersonation, account manipulation and social engineering attacks.

The announcement comes as finance and procurement teams face a sharp increase in sophisticated fraud attempts while navigating tighter regulatory expectations. According to the Trustpair 2026 Fraud Report, 71% of U.S. companies reported an increase in AI-powered fraud attempts over the past 12 months, with nearly half of finance leaders (47%) identifying AI-generated fraud as one of their biggest challenges. At the same time, new compliance pressures from Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements and new Nacha rules aimed at strengthening ACH payment security are pushing organizations to implement stronger vendor verification and payment validation controls.

More broadly, these developments reflect long-term structural trends reshaping enterprise P2P operations. As organizations digitize procurement and payment processes, adopt AI-driven automation and centralize supplier data within enterprise platforms, ensuring the integrity of vendor information has become a foundational control for financial resilience and fraud prevention.

“As organizations accelerate digital transformation across procurement and finance, the integrity of supplier data has become a critical control point for preventing payment fraud,” said Eric Washer, SVP, Product Strategy at Coupa. “62% of CFOs now oversee their organization’s technology and security functions, according to our annual Strategic CFO Report. Trustpair’s availability through the Coupa App Marketplace provides immense value to our finance and procurement customers looking to strengthen vendor verification and reduce the risk of financial loss with AI.”

“Vendor payment fraud continues to evolve rapidly as attackers use AI and social engineering to exploit manual verification processes,” said Baptiste Collot, CEO and co-founder of Trustpair. “Embedding Trustpair’s automated validation directly into the Coupa platform allows organizations to secure vendor onboarding and payment processes while meeting growing expectations around financial controls and compliance.”

Through the Coupa App Marketplace, customers can seamlessly extend their spend management platform with certified third-party solutions that address critical business challenges while reducing the cost and complexity of integrations. With Trustpair’s automated account ownership verification embedded into Coupa workflows, procurement and finance teams can onboard vendors faster while maintaining strong fraud prevention and compliance controls.
