The UK government committed to using AI as a catalyst for economic reform and public service enhancement, while ensuring public trust in AI technologies. The assurance of AI systems is crucial, focusing on fairness, transparency, and privacy protection to foster confidence among users.
Currently, approximately 524 companies operate within the AI sector, employing over 12,000 individuals and generating more than £1 billion. These firms provide essential tools for safe AI development and usage, which is increasingly in demand as organizations across the UK adopt AI technologies.

New initiatives aimed at helping businesses create and utilize trustworthy AI products include a new AI assurance platform, offering resources for identifying and mitigating risks associated with AI. This initiative will also include a self-assessment tool for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to implement responsible AI practices effectively.
Additionally, the UK AI Safety Institute (AISI) signed a partnership agreement with Singapore to enhance international collaboration on AI safety standards and practices, reinforcing the UK’s efforts for the safe & responsible use of AI.
