Web application leverages modern architecture for streamlined user administration and enhanced cloud storage security
Backblaze, Inc., a leading innovator in cloud storage solutions, introduced a private preview of its new enterprise web console. Purpose-built to meet the needs of large-scale organizations and managed service providers (MSPs), the new console offers advanced features such as role-based access controls (RBAC) and mandatory multi-factor authentication (MFA) to strengthen data security.
Designed to simplify the management of B2 Cloud Storage across distributed teams and departments, the enterprise console enables centralized oversight while allowing decentralized teams to manage their own storage buckets independently. With an upgraded, intuitive interface, the new console delivers a seamless user experience tailored for enterprise workflows.
Key capabilities of the new console include granular RBAC configurations that empower IT administrators to define permission levels according to organizational roles. This reduces the risk of over-privileged access and aligns with zero trust security models. In addition, enforced MFA requirements and compatibility with SSO or SCIM streamline secure user provisioning and access management across enterprise environments.

As part of this release, organizations will gain the flexibility to create B2 Buckets in any supported region—unlocking several strategic benefits, such as:
-
Enhancing disaster recovery and business continuity via geographically distributed data storage.
-
Improving application performance for global users through reduced latency.
-
Supporting compliance with regional data residency regulations.
“With its intuitive design, the enterprise web console provides enterprises with the secure and streamlined central management dashboard they need to provision and manage their Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage at scale. It allows simple, clean access to the many enterprise-level features and innovations Backblaze has deployed, including multi-region bucket creation, role-based access controls, and our recently launched performance tier, B2 Overdrive—with room to expand and improve as we get feedback from the private preview process,” said David Ngo, Chief Product Officer.
The private preview phase will enable select enterprise customers and MSP partners to test and provide feedback on the platform ahead of general availability. The new console reinforces Backblaze’s commitment to delivering secure, scalable, and user-friendly cloud storage for modern enterprises.
