Gigamon Partners with Cribl and Blackwood for Enhanced Hybrid Cloud Observability

Gigamon

On December 18, 2024, Gigamon, a leader in deep observability, unveiled a new offering under its Power of 3 program, in collaboration with Cribl and Blackwood. Initially launched in June, the Power of 3 Cloud program brings together Gigamon, a channel partner, and a top-tier networking, security, or observability technology partner to help customers optimize and secure their hybrid cloud infrastructure with integrated solutions and support.

The latest Power of 3 solution leverages Cribl, the Data Engine for IT and Security, along with Blackwood, to provide customers with comprehensive observability across hybrid cloud environments. This integration enhances security threat detection and performance optimization by eliminating blind spots and routing critical data to the right cloud, security, and observability tools.

The partnership pairs Cribl Stream with the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline, distributed and supported by Blackwood. This collaboration addresses challenges highlighted in the Gigamon 2024 Hybrid Cloud Security Report, which revealed that 65% of Security and IT leaders believe their current security tools fall short in detecting breaches due to limited visibility. Furthermore, one in three organizations admitted they could not detect breaches with existing tools.

Gigamon’s vice president of Cloud Ecosystem, Srinivas Chakravarty, emphasized the critical need for visibility in hybrid cloud infrastructures, which pose significant cybersecurity vulnerabilities. He highlighted how the Power of 3 combination efficiently delivers network-derived intelligence to Cribl Stream across hybrid environments, enhancing the visibility of existing tools and enabling Security and IT teams to secure and manage their infrastructure more effectively.

Enhanced Visibility and Efficiency

The integration streamlines data flow between networks and tools, using Gigamon GigaVUE Cloud Suite to supply network-derived insights to Cribl Stream. This approach simplifies hybrid cloud management, reduces complexity, and cuts costs while optimizing traffic and eliminating blind spots.

Blackwood, a trusted Gigamon partner for nearly two decades, will handle the sales, deployment, and support of this new offering through its global network of IT and security professionals.

Key Benefits for Customers

  • Data Routing and Enrichment: Cribl Stream routes data from the Gigamon pipeline to security, logging, and analytics tools, enabling faster threat detection, incident response, and recovery.
  • Simplified Monitoring with Metadata: Metadata extracted by Gigamon is reformatted by Cribl for seamless ingestion by various tools, ensuring efficient delivery of actionable insights.
  • Reduced Threat Surface: Teams can search and correlate data more efficiently, lowering risks and improving security postures.

Vlad Melnik, Technical Alliances and Partner Marketing at Cribl, emphasized how the partnership empowers customers with greater control and value extraction from network data while optimizing existing tool investments. Ryan Morris, president of Blackwood, noted the exponential growth of data sources and the value of integrating Cribl and Gigamon solutions for a comprehensive and cost-effective view of cloud environments, helping customers maintain robust cybersecurity as data volumes surge.

The Power of 3 offering reinforces Gigamon’s commitment to helping organizations navigate the complexities of hybrid cloud infrastructure with advanced, integrated solutions.
