Upwind, a cloud security leader, has teamed up with Microsoft. They aim to give enterprises a unified security solution for Azure. This partnership blends runtime protection, vulnerability management, and posture monitoring into one platform. It offers organizations continuous visibility across their cloud workloads. The solution is now available on the Microsoft Marketplace and will expand to cover identity protection, internet exposure, and GenAI workloads in the coming months.
“Upwind’s partnership with Microsoft embeds runtime-first protection directly into the fabric of Azure, from audit logs to container registries, giving customers the ability to discover and act on threats before they become breaches,” said Amiram Shachar, CEO of Upwind.
The integrated platform brings together Azure cloud audit logs, CSPM tools, and Azure Container Registry scanning to simplify the onboarding of cloud assets. This allows security teams to respond to risks in real-time by providing actionable information to address the most important issues immediately.
Unlike traditional security tools that rely on traditional approaches such as rule-based security or partial signals, the Upwind solution uses agentless technology along with eBPF-based runtime security. According to Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Cloud Security 2024, runtime security is a significant aspect to address blind spots in cloud environments. This is exactly where the Upwind solution comes into the picture.

The solution brings together posture management, workload security, threat protection, vulnerability management, and identity security. This allows security teams to minimize false positives and respond to risks before they happen. Industries such as financial services, healthcare, and digital-native companies can benefit from the solution to provide better security to their critical workloads.
With multi-cloud support, Upwind extends runtime-first security to serverless workloads and other cloud platforms, ensuring consistent risk management across diverse environments.
“Cloud innovation is accelerating faster than traditional security platforms can keep up,” added Shachar. “By partnering with Microsoft, we’re redefining cloud security for enterprises, embedding real-time protection directly into Azure, and setting a new benchmark for safeguarding workloads across multi-cloud environments.”
Tom Davis, Partner at Microsoft Startups, noted, “This partnership equips enterprises to pinpoint vulnerabilities in real time, reduce alert fatigue, and act on what’s truly exploitable—demonstrating Microsoft’s commitment to runtime security within Azure.”
