Cloudflare Intros Workers VPC, Private Link Tools

Cloudflare

Developers can now build secure global apps on Cloudflare Workers while seamlessly connecting to data in legacy clouds and on-premises networks

Cloudflare, Inc., a leading connectivity cloud company, announced the launch of Workers Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and VPC Private Link, a major step forward in enabling developers to build fast, secure applications across multiple cloud environments. These new offerings mark a significant evolution of Cloudflare’s serverless platform, Workers, giving development teams the ability to deploy serverless workloads in isolated, secure environments with fine-grained control and seamless interoperability.

With Workers VPC, Cloudflare introduces a way for organizations to run serverless workloads within logically isolated cloud environments—similar to traditional VPCs in hyperscale clouds—while still benefiting from the scale and efficiency of Cloudflare’s global network. Coupled with VPC Private Link, developers can now securely connect to private resources hosted on major public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, without exposing services to the public internet.

“Developers are being asked to do more than ever—build faster, more intelligent applications that can run everywhere, while keeping data secure,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare. “With Workers VPC and VPC Private Link, we’re delivering the tools to make that possible. Now any developer can build highly-performant applications that connect across cloud environments and maintain Zero Trust security by default.”

The new capabilities are designed to help enterprises overcome traditional cloud silos and modernize their architectures with flexibility and security at the core. By enabling secure connectivity between Cloudflare’s serverless platform and resources hosted in public clouds, organizations can maintain compliance and governance while improving developer agility.

Key features of Workers VPC and VPC Private Link include:

  • Secure and Isolated Environments: Developers can now deploy serverless functions in logically isolated environments that mirror the security of traditional VPCs.

  • Zero Trust Security Model: Every connection made through VPC Private Link enforces identity, policy, and authentication, ensuring end-to-end protection.

  • Cross-Cloud Connectivity: Teams can privately access services across cloud providers without routing traffic over the public internet.

  • Developer Agility: The new capabilities integrate seamlessly with existing cloud-native workflows, enabling developers to move faster while reducing risk.

“Protecting sensitive data and meeting strict compliance requirements are top priorities for enterprises. Workers VPC and VPC Private Link are designed to deliver the performance and flexibility developers need, with the security and control their organizations demand,” said Rita Kozlov, Senior Director of Product at Cloudflare. “We’re removing barriers between clouds and giving developers a single, secure platform to build the future of the Internet.”

Cloudflare’s connectivity cloud continues to evolve to support modern application development needs, helping businesses eliminate complexity, reduce costs, and accelerate innovation. These latest announcements reflect Cloudflare’s ongoing investment in building a developer-first ecosystem grounded in performance, scalability, and Zero Trust security.
