The SCORE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, announced the addition of Google, The ODP Corporation and Truist as Foundation sponsors during the second quarter of this year.
The financial support, expertise and commitment to small businesses provided by these and other corporate sponsors enables the expansion and enhancement of engaging educational business programs delivered both online and in local workshops; the creation or update of expert business content and templates; and, the overall backing of the highly sought-after free mentoring services delivered by SCORE volunteers to small business owners. Sponsor support helped SCORE to drive the creation of more than 25,000 new businesses in the last fiscal year.
Google will work with SCORE chapters to offer access to Grow with Google trainings which aim to teach people the digital skills that can help grow their careers and small businesses; The ODP Corporation through its Elevate Together® powered by Round It Up America will support SCORE mentoring services for its small business program participants; and, the Truist sponsorship will support new content updates to the popular field workshop, “Simple Steps to Start Your Business” which will be offered by nearly 90 SCORE chapters in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast to small businesses located there.
“Our commitment to the SCORE Foundation is a great example of how we work with small businesses at each stage of business ownership with not only financing but hands-on guidance and support,” said Scott Stearsman, head of small business at Truist Corporation. “We are grateful for the opportunity to lend our expertise and to be a part of the small business journey to inspire and build better lives and communities.”
