Palo Alto Networks has announced Quantum Safe Security, its next, generation cybersecurity solution aimed at enabling enterprises to be prepared for the increased quantum threat to todays cryptographic systems. This product provides live cryptographic visibility, risk quantification and phased remediation workflows that will help to speed up the migration to post, quantum cryptography (PQC) at scale without interrupting business operations.
Quantum computing’s potential to solve mathematical problems once considered intractable poses a growing risk to widely deployed encryption methods. Algorithms such as RSA and ECC fundamental to modern public key cryptography could be rendered obsolete when sufficiently powerful quantum machines arrive, exposing sensitive data to “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks that capture encrypted communications today for future decryption.
Traditional security solutions and manual inventorying do not provide the level of cryptographic understanding that is required by enterprises to focus on remediation, resulting in a “cryptographic debt” that is present in the form of legacy apps, IoT devices, and outdated protocols. Quantum-Safe Security helps to bridge this gap by providing continuous discovery and remediation.

Structured, Scalable Cryptographic Transformation
Palo Alto Networks designed Quantum-Safe Security around four foundational pillars each focused on helping security teams navigate the multiyear transition to quantum resilience.
-
Continuous Discovery through Ecosystem Ingestion
The platform ingests telemetry from PAN-OS NGFW, Prisma Access and a spectrum of third-party systems to create a unified cryptographic map. By integrating with CMDB and asset management tools, alongside EDR and network logs, it delivers comprehensive visibility of cryptographic usage and dependencies across the enterprise.
-
Risk Assessment & Prioritization
Utilizing contextualized intelligence, the solution correlates cryptographic strength with business criticality. This enables security leaders to prioritize remediation across strategic zones from deprecated protocols vulnerable to classical exploitation to assets at high risk of post-quantum threats.
-
Comprehensive Remediation Capabilities
A well, structured remediation framework helps the organization to work through the three stages systematically. The first stage involves getting the assets ready for the quantum era. The second stage is about enabling configurations with PQC, hybrid, PQC, or both. The third stage makes use of Cipher Translation to deliver virtual protection to legacy systems that cannot be directly upgraded.
-
Governance for Continuous Crypto Hygiene & Compliance
Built, in governance features do a great job at constantly mapping cryptographic dependencies and making sure that global compliance is adhered to by automating the framework auditing process which is aligned with standards such as NIST and FIPS. Detection of drift that is active is very helpful in making sure that there is no regression in the use of insecure cipher.
Empowering Quantum-Era Security Posture
According to Palo Alto Networks, quantum readiness is more than an upgrade in technology; it is a paradigm shift in how organizations approach protecting data confidentiality and integrity over the long term. The company has also introduced Integrated Quantum Practices, which combine technology, partners, and professional services to help organizations mitigate cryptographic risks.
To facilitate adoption, Palo Alto Networks provides a Quantum Readiness Assessment to help organizations measure their current level of vulnerability and create a roadmap for improvement before widespread adoption.
