New generative AI solution enhances the Bloomberg Terminal experience with intuitive question-based insights from company documents
Bloomberg has announced the launch of AI-Powered Document Insights, a next-generation research solution that leverages generative AI to help research analysts and corporate decision-makers quickly extract insights from company documents using natural, conversational language.
Building on the success of AI-Powered Earnings Call Summaries and complementing AI-Powered News Summaries, this latest offering reflects Bloomberg’s ongoing commitment to reimagining the Bloomberg Terminal for the AI era. Integrated seamlessly with Bloomberg’s suite of advanced analytical tools, AI-Powered Document Insights makes the investment research process faster, smarter, and more intuitive.
Harnessing decades of financial expertise and over 15 years of innovation in AI, Bloomberg delivers advanced search and summarization capabilities with this new solution. Developed in collaboration with Bloomberg Intelligence analysts, the generative AI models have been fine-tuned to understand the complexities of financial language through the use of Bloomberg’s proprietary AI guardrail systems.
With access to a robust library of trusted and premium content, including over 200 million company documents and more than 5,000 Bloomberg News articles published daily, users can analyze both unstructured text and structured data in seconds. This extensive dataset includes research reports from Bloomberg Intelligence, covering thousands of companies and sectors globally, allowing users to rapidly update their investment positions and strategies.
Magdalena Richardson, Credit Trading Strategist at NatWest Markets Plc, said: “What I like about AI-Powered Document Insights is that it provides a great summary of a company’s comments when asked a direct question. For example, within an earnings call transcript for an original equipment manufacturer, the solution can be asked about the impact of tariffs. I think this solution is a godsend on a day when you have multiple earnings calls and cannot attend them all or need to revisit a topic.”

Thymen Rundberg, Equity Research Associate at ING, added: “What I find valuable is that AI-Powered Document Insights allows me to quickly find specific information within earnings call transcripts, saving me time versus manually searching through the document. The tool also allows me to stay up to date with more peers of companies in my coverage. This was definitely a more tedious task before.”
AI-Powered Document Insights is just one step in Bloomberg’s broader AI-driven roadmap. The company plans to continue enhancing the tool with expanded document coverage, deeper integrations, and new features—empowering users to discover actionable insights faster and more efficiently.
Starting today, Bloomberg Terminal users can access a redesigned interface featuring tools like ‘Ask a Question’, which allows users to explore topics such as “tariffs” or extract detailed data points like “procurement costs” directly from a wide range of corporate documents. These include earnings call transcripts, investor days, M&A call summaries, guidance calls, and more. The solution also features transparency links that highlight relevant excerpts in source documents, and audio replays that let users hear the tone and context of executive statements. The ‘Key Notes’ feature provides a concise, structured summary of critical topics raised in corporate presentations.
Suzanne Szur, Research and Companies Product Manager at Bloomberg, commented: “With AI-Powered Document Insights, we’re delivering our customers a solution that is infused with financial domain knowledge. It’s been developed in close collaboration with our customers and evaluated by our team of product, data and technology experts who understand the importance of responsible AI down to the design features. Very soon we’ll launch additional research solutions to help financial professionals and their teams find unique insights, improve their research methods, and develop investment strategies tailored to various time horizons in this uncertain macro environment.”
Bloomberg’s evolving suite of AI-powered research tools aims to revolutionize how financial professionals conduct analysis and deliver insights. By integrating trusted data and advanced analytics into both individual and enterprise-level workflows, Bloomberg enables organizations to scale their research capabilities while maintaining accuracy, speed, and consistency.
