Quectel Communications, a leading global provider of total IoT solutions, recently announced that it has officially launched the new 8-core 4G smart module SC200P series based on the UNISOC 7861 platform to meet the terminal performance requirements of consumer and industrial applications such as smart finance, smart home, smart wearables, and industrial handhelds for high speed, multimedia, and long life cycle. This series of products will be fully upgraded in terms of wireless network connection and transmission, multimedia, positioning and other performance, becoming a prominent representative of cost-effective products in the field of smart modules.
The SC200P series is based on the dual-core ARM Cortex-A75 and hexa-core ARM Cortex-A55 processors of the UNISOC 7861 platform of Spreadtrum, with a built-in Arm Mali™ -G57 GPU and the Android 12 operating system. It will also support upgrades to Android 14 and 16 in the future. Its high-performance features can help the terminal process a variety of intelligent commands in a smooth and stable state during operation.
As a multi-network smart module, the SC200P series supports LTE Cat 4, with a maximum downlink rate of up to 150 Mbps. It can also achieve full coverage of 2.4 & 5 GHz dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth short-range wireless communications, enhance terminal connection performance and flexibility, and meet the needs of different industry terminal applications for high-performance networks. In addition, it also supports MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output technology), and multiple receiving antennas can be used at the receiving end, so that the signal is received through multiple antennas at the receiving end, thereby increasing download speed, reducing bit error rate, and improving communication quality.

Rich multimedia – helping scene expansion
It is worth mentioning that the SC200P series launched this time has been upgraded in all aspects in terms of multimedia performance. For example, it supports single-camera 24M, dual-camera function (16M+8M), and can realize up to 3 cameras (16M+8M+2M) working simultaneously; the main screen supports up to FHD+(2520 × 1080) @ 60 fps/HD+(1680×720)@90fps, and the encoding and decoding capability supports 1080P@60fps, which can bring a high-definition picture quality experience, so it is especially suitable for financial payment, industrial smart handheld devices, smart intercom devices, smart wearables, vending machines, logistics cabinets and other equipment and industries.
At the same time, the SC200P series integrates feature-rich interfaces, such as LCM, camera, touch screen, microphone, speaker, UART, USB, I2C and SPI interfaces, which greatly help customers in later application scenarios and development design.
