Fibocom Launches FG390 5G Module with MediaTek T930, AI

Fibocom

Fibocom, a global leader in wireless communication modules and AI solutions, has announced the commercial launch of its latest 5G module, the FG390. Engineered on the advanced MediaTek T930 platform, the FG390 series is designed to empower mobile broadband (MBB) devices—particularly those driving the 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) ecosystem. Target applications include customer premises equipment (CPE), outdoor units (ODU), mobile hotspots, enterprise gateways, and industrial connectivity solutions.

Built with cutting-edge 4nm process technology, the FG390 integrates MediaTek’s high-performance M90 5G modem with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 CPU. Fully aligned with 3GPP Release 18 specifications, the module delivers impressive data throughput, supporting 6-carrier downlink aggregation (6CC CA) and uplink 5-layer 3Tx over the 5G NR Sub-6GHz frequency range. It achieves peak standalone (SA) downlink speeds of up to 10 Gbps and uplink speeds of 2.8 Gbps, enabling a superior 5G experience for users across diverse environments.

The FG390’s capabilities are further enhanced by 200MHz bandwidth support and advanced 8Rx technology, improving spectrum efficiency by up to 40% at the cell edge and significantly expanding signal coverage. The module also incorporates a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), delivering AI capabilities that support intelligent network management and optimized user interactions in next-generation gateway devices.

Amid the rapid evolution of 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and artificial intelligence, the FG390 is purpose-built to support digital transformation across both consumer and enterprise markets. Its robust feature set, scalable performance, and versatile interfaces position it as a catalyst for innovation in smart homes, smart offices, and smart city infrastructure.

Leveraging MediaTek’s T930 platform, the FG390 stands at the intersection of cutting-edge 5G and AI convergence, offering telecom operators and solution providers a powerful tool to maximize ROI and accelerate market deployment.
