T-Mobile & Palo Alto Networks to Launch Managed SASE for Wireless

T-Mobile

New solution unites America’s only nationwide 5G Advanced network with industry-leading Prisma SASE 5G to offer more secure, comprehensive connectivity for businesses and government agencies

T-Mobile and Palo Alto Networks have jointly unveiled T-Mobile SASE, with Palo Alto Networks — an innovative managed service that combines America’s only nationwide 5G Advanced network with T-Mobile’s T-SIMsecure and Security Slice, alongside Palo Alto Networks’ cutting-edge Prisma SASE 5G platform. This new offering is designed to deliver superior security, enhanced network performance, and simplified management for T-Mobile for Business customers.

Leveraging Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma SASE 5G, a cloud-native Zero Trust security framework, this solution broadens T-Mobile’s security capabilities. It enables organizations to safeguard their networks and devices without requiring additional hardware or software installations. The integrated service allows businesses and government agencies to securely connect users and devices to private networks, Software as a Service (SaaS), and internet applications — all while maintaining robust security policies and complete visibility. Incorporating Palo Alto Networks’ SASE functionality directly into T-Mobile’s network strengthens data protection across endpoints.

“At T-Mobile for Business, we’re redefining secure connectivity for the 5G era with mobility-driven solutions designed to scale effortlessly,” said Mishka Dehghan, SVP of Strategy, Product & Solutions Engineering at T-Mobile Business Group. “By adding Palo Alto Networks’ proven SASE capabilities into our 5G Standalone network, we’re delivering built-in security from the ground up, empowering our business and government customers with a seamless solution that protects their data across every endpoint, enabling them to operate confidently in an increasingly connected world.”

“This SASE offering directly integrates into T-Mobile’s network and aims to provide comprehensive security, visibility and exceptional experiences without the need for additional clients and complex management,” said Anand Oswal, SVP and GM of Network Security at Palo Alto Networks. “We are excited to bring our advanced security solution to T-Mobile’s cutting-edge 5G network.”

With the surge in mobile workforce expansion, growing reliance on connected devices, and the proliferation of IoT technologies, organizations face mounting cybersecurity challenges. The rapid rise in 5G-enabled IoT connections—from an estimated five million in North America in 2025 to a projected 39 million by 2030—places increasing demands on IT teams and heightens vulnerability risks, especially where authentication mechanisms fall short.

To address these evolving security needs, T-Mobile and Palo Alto Networks have combined their expertise to deliver T-Mobile SASE powered by three foundational 5G network components:

  • T-Mobile 5G Advanced: Built on the industry’s sole 5G Standalone architecture, it integrates security from inception, including encryption of interfaces, subscriber identities, and network control/data planes, even for inter-operator traffic. It also prevents downgrade attacks that exploit weaker legacy protocols.

  • T-Mobile T-SIMsecure: Hardware-level, SIM-based authentication using IMSI and IMEI provides robust security without requiring client software. This simplifies IT management, enhances authorization for connected endpoints—including IoT devices and 5G routers unable to run traditional SASE software—and boosts productivity for mobile workers. Devices without a T-Mobile SIM can easily configure Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect and Prisma Access Agent regardless of provider or Wi-Fi network.

  • T-Mobile Security Slice: A dedicated virtual network segment over the air, enabled by T-Mobile’s 5G Standalone network, offering traffic isolation, customization, and improved performance. This solution delivers superior speed and reduced latency compared to Wi-Fi, LTE, and 5G non-standalone networks for customers using 5G Standalone-enabled devices.

T-Mobile SASE, with Palo Alto Networks will be available starting this summer, expanding T-Mobile’s portfolio of advanced SASE solutions tailored for 5G-connected enterprises.
