Cato Networks Raises $359M, Valued Over $4.8 Billion

Cato Networks

Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) specialist accelerates the future of AI-driven enterprise network and security in oversubscribed funding round.

Cato Networks, a leader in SASE, announced a Series G funding round, raising $359 million led by new investors, including Vitruvian Partners and ION Crossover Partners, and existing investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, Acrew Capital, and Adams Street Partners. This investment brings Cato’s valuation to over $4.8 billion and its total funding to over $1 billion, a major milestone in the company’s mission to redefine enterprise security in the digital and AI era.

This investment builds on Cato Networks’ leadership history, pioneering the convergence of security and networking as early as 2015, even before the term SASE was officially defined by Gartner in 2019. Cato Networks’ vision has since been repeatedly recognized and praised by analysts worldwide.

“With over 3,500 major account customers, continued hypergrowth, and a consistent track record of winning against all major competitors, Cato is a mature company to invest in,” said Shlomo Kramer , co-founder and CEO of Cato Networks. “Our true SASE platform and a decade of AI research differentiate us from traditional vendors that prefer a portfolio of point solutions. Our customers and partners see the difference and choose Cato Networks because they benefit from truly proven security, operational efficiency, and unmatched business agility.”

“Cato Networks has dedicated the last decade to building and powering the next generation of cybersecurity solutions, and we are excited to partner with them as they continue to push the boundaries of AI-driven security and networking,” said Vitruvian Partners. “The company’s visionary leadership, industry-leading growth and retention rates, and relentless commitment to innovation and customer experience are why we invested in Cato. We look forward to supporting Cato’s next phase of growth as they expand their market reach and transform how enterprises connect and secure their digital business and AI.”

“As a longtime investor in Cato Networks, we’ve had a front-row seat to their incredible journey, from defining the SASE category to leading them,” said Ravi Mhatre , Partner and Co-Founder of Lightspeed Venture Partners. “Cato is redefining enterprise security with a unified, AI-powered SASE platform that’s secure, scalable, and built for a cloud-first world. They’re not just removing IT complexity. They’re unlocking true agility for the digital business. We’re proud to further support Cato as they continue to set the standard for SASE leadership.”

Traditional infrastructure is increasingly perceived as a liability because it is costly to maintain, slow to scale, and fragmented. IT and security leaders face increasing complexity, fewer staff, and constant pressure to secure entire environments and ensure business continuity. Cato was designed to meet this demand.

The company combines security and networking into a single, cloud-native platform. Unlike a legacy patchwork of firewalls, routers, cloud proxies, and point solutions, the Cato SASE Cloud platform was designed from the ground up to automatically update and adapt to business needs.

With this new funding, Cato will continue to challenge industry assumptions about SASE and AI-powered security, driving even greater adoption and capturing an even larger total addressable market (TAM).

To achieve this, Cato Networks will:

  • Strengthening security through AI  : Expanding capabilities that enable businesses to adopt AI across their operations in a secure and controlled manner.
  • Accelerate platform innovation  : Increase research and development investments to enrich capabilities in DEM, LAN security, IoT/OT security, SD-WAN, SSE, XDR, and ZTNA. All natively converged in a single cloud-native platform.
  • Expanding its global presence  : Growing Cato’s partner ecosystem and customer-facing teams to meet rapidly growing global demand.

Cato Networks’ approach to AI goes beyond automation. Cato empowers IT and security professionals such as CIOs, CISOs, network architects, and security analysts to act faster, make better decisions, and focus on initiatives that truly drive business progress.

“ With Cato , AI manages the noise so our clients can focus on strategy,” adds Shlomo Kramer . “We’re embedding AI into the very DNA of the infrastructure. Routine tasks are automated. Response workflows are accelerated. Risk management decisions are driven by directly accessible and actionable data, not outdated reports. These aren’t tools; they’re a new operating model that’s efficient, resilient, and optimized.”
