Corsha names Sam Whelan as CRO & Brian C. Reed as CMO

Corsha

Corsha, the first and only Machine Identity Provider (mIDP) purpose-built to secure machine-to-machine (M2M) communication across operational systems and critical infrastructure, announced the addition of two new seasoned executives to accelerate growth with Sam Whelan as the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Brian C. Reed as the Chief Market Officer (CMO).

Now, machines outnumber people 80:1, powering critical operations across industries like manufacturing, distribution, energy, utilities, and defense. As these systems become more autonomous, distributed, and connected, the risk of untrusted machine-to-machine communication grows exponentially. Traditional identity and access management (IAM) solutions were not designed for this scale or complexity. Corsha solves this urgent security gap with the industry’s first purpose-built Machine Identity Provider (m-IDP), enabling organizations to control which machines connect, when, and how, securing every interaction from edge to core, cloud to on-prem.

“Enterprises are embracing automation, autonomy, and AI faster than ever, bringing a great urgency to building an identity security foundation for machine-to-machine communications,” said Anusha Iyer, CEO and Co-founder of Corsha. “As market demand accelerates, I’m thrilled to welcome Brian and Sam to the team. They bring deep expertise in cybersecurity, go-to-market, and revenue leadership, and will play a key role in helping Corsha scale our mission to secure every machine connection across industrial and operational environments.”

Sam Whelan joins Corsha as Chief Revenue Officer to meet rising market demand for machine identity in OT systems and critical infrastructure and to accelerate the company’s customer growth. He brings over 20 years of sales experience building high-performing revenue teams at leading cybersecurity startups. Prior to Corsha, Sam served as CRO at Viso Trust, a pioneer in AI-driven third-party risk management (TPRM). He was previously VP of Sales at Cmd, a cloud infrastructure security company acquired by Elastic after securing over 100 customers. Before Cmd, Sam led sales at Komand, a security automation (SOAR) company acquired by Rapid7. Earlier in his career, he ran U.S. sales at Resilient Systems, with a successful acquisition by IBM.

“Corsha is solving one of the biggest blind spots in cybersecurity with a platform that every enterprise and government agency running operational systems needs today,” said Sam Whelan, Chief Revenue Officer at Corsha. “The opportunity to build and scale a category-defining sales and go-to-market motion around machine identity is incredibly exciting. I’m thrilled to join this mission and bring my experience leading high-growth sales teams to help Corsha meet rising demand for machine identity across critical industries.”

Brian C. Reed joins Corsha as Chief Market Officer to lead and scale the company’s go-to-market strategy, brand, and external voice. A recognized expert and leading voice in mobile cybersecurity and enterprise software, he brings deep leadership in category creation, brand visibility, pipeline development, and long-term growth. He brings over 20 years of marketing and product leadership in mobile cybersecurity, and more than 30 years of experience in enterprise software. Prior to Corsha, Brian served as SVP of Marketing at Appdome, the AI-native platform for mobile app defense, where he supported global expansion. As CMO at NowSecure, the first automated mobile application security testing (MAST) and mobile pen testing-as-a-service (PTaaS) platform. Brian also held dual roles as CMO and CPO at BoxTone, the category creator for both mobile service management (MSM) and enterprise mobility management (EMM), which was acquired by Good Technology. At Good Technology, he became Chief Mobility Officer, where he scaled the global business leading up to its acquisition by BlackBerry.

“Machines now run the world, powering business, infrastructure, and everyday life,” said Brian Reed, Chief Market Officer at Corsha. “But like so many tech revolutions before, security was left behind. Machine identity is the foundation for securing this ecosystem, and Corsha is the first and only platform purpose-built to solve this challenge at scale, across autonomous systems, robotics, and Agentic AI. I’ve been deeply impressed by the team, the technology, and the early traction, and I’m excited to help Corsha lead the next wave of cybersecurity innovation as the category leader.”
