Jabil Inc., a global engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing solutions provider, announced the launch of its 1.6T transceivers, which can transmit data at rates up to 1.6 Terabits per second. These transceivers join Jabil’s expanding portfolio of photonics products to meet the accelerating demand for AI/ML workloads, high-performance computing (HPC), cloud computing, and high-speed data center interconnects.
The 1.6T transceiver is built using an Intel® Silicon Photonics engine. It can reach speeds of 200 Gigabits per lane on both its electrical and optical interfaces and will be available in DR8, DR8+, and 2xFR4 variants to support intra-data center connectivity. These transceivers are highly efficient and can effectively double the bandwidth capacity of data center racks without requiring modifications to existing infrastructure.
Jabil’s 1.6T transceivers maintain the extraordinary reliability of the company’s current-generation 400G and 800G products, also based on Intel® Silicon Photonics technology, while offering among the lowest power consumption in the market.
