Cox Communications announced the retirement of Kevin T. Hart as Segra chief executive officer and the appointment of Kevin Anderson, founder and former CEO of Unite Private Networks (UPN), a fiber company acquired by Cox in 2023. Hart has been a valued and trusted leader for over 14 years at Cox Communications. Prior to his role at Segra, he served as Cox’s executive vice president, chief product and technology officer where he helped to deliver strong returns on capital. Hart was instrumental in the early phase of Segra’s growth and will help provide a smooth leadership transition to Anderson.
Anderson is a seasoned commercial fiber leader with more than 35 years of telecommunications and utility industry. He will assume leadership responsibilities at Segra immediately. Prior to his founding of UPN, Anderson served as a business development executive for UtiliCorp and as an audit and business consultant for Arthur Andersen & Co. In 2023, Cox Communications completed the full acquisition of UPN and combined with Segra to form a new standalone fiber company to accelerate growth in the company’s commercial fiber solutions.
“We wish Kevin Hart well in his retirement and welcome Kevin Anderson to the team,” said Jeff Breaux, executive vice president Cox Business. “His visionary approach, strategic customer centric mindset and passion in the commercial fiber industry aligns seamlessly with our growth trajectory.”
