b.well and Samsung Partner to Simplify Healthcare Access Through Smartphone Integration

b.well Connected Health and Samsung Electronics have announced a new collaboration aimed at transforming how patients access and share medical information. The initiative supports the federal “Kill the Clipboard” program led by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which seeks to reduce paperwork in healthcare and give individuals greater control over their health data.

The partnership introduces an integrated mobile experience that allows Samsung Galaxy users to securely access their complete health records through the Health Records feature within the Samsung Health app. Patients can view their medical history, interpret it through simplified explanations, and instantly share relevant information with participating healthcare providers during appointments.

“This is the moment interoperability becomes real for people,” said Kristen Valdes, CEO and Founder of b.well. “For years, patients were promised access to their health data but still faced friction at every appointment. Now the experience matches the policy, your health information moves with you.”

Currently, healthcare visits may demand that patients fill out numerous forms, recall various details concerning their medications, and access various separate patient portals. By putting the individual’s health records directly into his or her smartphone, the partnership hopes to reduce the complexity of such tasks. Patients can share their verified medical data with clinicians at any convenient time.

Besides allowing access to patients’ records, the platform offers various “conversational AI capabilities” that help individuals better understand their records. For instance, patients may use it to ask questions concerning diagnoses or medications, understand complicated medical terms in plain language, and create summaries to help prepare for future appointments.

The platform offers “real-time visit summaries and personalized reminders that align with a physician’s care plan.”

To ensure secure access, the platform incorporates identity verification technology from CLEAR through its CLEAR1 platform. This allows users to confirm their identity and safely manage their medical records across different healthcare systems.

By combining Samsung’s mobile ecosystem with b.well’s nationwide health data connectivity, the partnership demonstrates how digital technology can move healthcare interoperability from policy discussions into everyday patient experiences—bringing the industry closer to portable, patient-controlled health records.
