Dr. Russell Stewart Named CMO by Lumexa Imaging

Lumexa Imaging, one of the nation’s largest providers of outpatient imaging services, announced Dr. Russell Stewart, MD, MBA, MS as its new Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Stewart joins Lumexa Imaging as a practicing, board-certified musculoskeletal radiologist and healthcare executive with a unique background spanning clinical radiology, AI-driven innovation, and quality improvement.

Most recently, Dr. Stewart served as Chief Clinical Officer at Covera Health, where he led initiatives using advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence to redefine and improve care quality. He has also held executive roles at Nines, a Silicon Valley radiology AI company, where he guided regulatory strategy and led successful FDA clearances for machine learning-based diagnostic tools.

He continues to provide advanced diagnostic interpretations at Stanford University Medical Center, where he has held several key leadership roles, including Director of Body Imaging at the Stanford South Bay Cancer Center and Director of Quality Improvement for the Department of Radiology.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Stewart will oversee Lumexa Imaging’s national clinical strategy, leading efforts to enhance quality, promote patient safety, and strengthen partnerships with health systems, referring providers, and the company’s network of subspecialized radiologists. He will also lead the advancement of technology-driven solutions that further clinical excellence, one of the organization’s important competitive advantages.

Dr. Stewart earned his medical degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Medicine and holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In addition to his extensive professional accomplishments, he brings a unique personal background as a former NFL player with the Seattle Seahawks.
