Acquisition combines nation’s leading public health technologies and service providers for federal and state public health agencies
InductiveHealth, the leading provider of disease and syndromic surveillance systems and services throughout the United States, is proud to announce it has acquired Envision Technology Partners, the leading developer and provider of modern immunization information systems and services. Together, the companies partner with and provide services to public health departments in over 40 states.
By integrating Envision’s immunization information system with InductiveHealth’s expertise in disease and syndromic surveillance technology, the company can now empower federal, state and local public health teams with a new platform and technology partnership that streamlines and enhances interoperability between applications.
Focusing on this integrated platform can quickly move public health agencies to the forefront of data and system modernization. Further, combining disease, syndromic, and immunization datasets solves an unmet need for public health departments to predict infectious disease outbreaks in real-time. Currently, public health departments are too often forced to rely on disparate applications and siloed datasets that make it cumbersome and costly to monitor and analyze infection rates, emergency department (ED) visits, hospitalization trends, and patient data, including immunization rates. Today, it simply takes much longer than it should to not just predict potential outbreaks, but to identify and act on current outbreaks of disease. This is an issue and long-standing concern directly addressed by the InductiveHealth and Envision integration.
InductiveHealth, founded in 2013 – which serves nearly half of the state, local, tribal, and territorial (STLT) health departments, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and others – is the leading provider of disease and syndromic surveillance systems and services to public health agencies. Offerings include multiple electronic disease surveillance system (EDSS) platforms including the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System Base Systems (NBS), Epitrax, and syndromic technology with an exclusive license to provide and service ESSENCE.

Envision Technology Partners, Inc. has 23 years of Immunization Information System (IIS) implementation, maintenance, and support experience as a leading developer of IIS software, currently supporting more than 20 of the CDC IIS awardee jurisdictions. Its flagship Software as a Service (SaaS) product, WebIZTM, has been the industry standard for both IIS best practices and future technology innovation across the immunization space. Beyond development and delivery of critical public health infrastructure and immunization technology, Envision has established itself as the premier public health agency partner in terms of both service and market expertise. Through direct contracts with state and local public health departments as well as the CDC, Envision is the largest contributor of data to the CDC’s IZGateway, a cloud-based service that allows for real-time exchange of immunization data.
“By bringing together the technologies, public health experts, and datasets from InductiveHealth and Envision Technology Providers, we will offer the public health market new levels of system integration and interoperability, a more streamlined way to purchase and implement critical systems, and a way to maximize federal and state funding to get the tools public health agencies need,” said Eric Whitworth, CEO of InductiveHealth. “Essentially, this acquisition provides public health agencies and departments with a clearer path to data modernization and scalability across various use cases through a single set of integrated solutions.”
Envision co-founders, Steve and Claire Murchie, will stay involved with the combined business. “When considering what was next for Envision, we knew we were looking for a home for our colleagues and clients that shared our vision and belief in client service and company culture, while also having a deep understanding of the public health market and a commitment to leverage Envision’s people and technology in a positive way,” said Claire Murchie.
“We share a vision with InductiveHealth that a more uniform and integrated platform with offerings across various public health use cases provides a new level of value to public health agencies. Mapping out this vision and path forward together gave us confidence InductiveHealth was the right choice and partner for Envision,” added Envision CEO Steve Murchie. “Together with InductiveHealth, our combined team of epidemiologists, public health experts, and technologists is second to none and we know our public health agency clients and partners will feel the same.”
