Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH presents its latest innovation in electrosurgery: the FiAPC® plus probes. They are designed for use in gastrointestinal and pulmonary endoscopy. Based on decades of experience in argon plasma coagulation (APC), the FiAPC® plus probes demonstrate advancements aimed at improving control, workflow efficiency, and procedure reliability.
Designed to put control in the hands of the physician
With the FiAPC® plus probes, Erbe aims to offer physicians greater control over all aspects of APC application: from energy delivery and beam formation to tip positioning and suction. “Precision in APC starts with control. And that’s exactly what FiAPC® plus was created to deliver,” said Mariuccia Zambelli, Vice President of Global Marketing.
The new probes feature a thermally insulated tip, designed to minimize heat generation at the distal end of the instrument. This reduces tissue adhesion and allows for a homogeneous and consistent plasma beam, even in complex anatomies.
Versatility for gastrointestinal and pulmonary applications
FiAPC® plus probes are available in various versions with axial, lateral, and circumferential plasma beam apertures, offering clinicians options to suit a wide range of clinical applications. The probes are compatible with Erbe’s full range of renowned APC modes: preciseAPC®, pulsedAPC® (slow and fast), and forcedAPC®, which can be selected to select the correct tissue effect for the corresponding tissue characteristics.
FiAPC® plus probes unleash their full potential in combination with the APC 3 and the new VIO® 3n Fire electrosurgical generator, specifically designed for APC applications. The platform architecture ensures seamless integration, rapid recognition, and pre-configured APC mode settings tailored to the FiAPC® plus probe, resulting in greater workflow efficiency, accuracy, and user confidence.

Reliable performance in heat-sensitive areas across all specialties
While FiAPC® plus probes are designed for a wide range of APC indications, their value becomes especially clear in procedures involving thermosensitive areas, whether in the gastrointestinal tract or bronchial system. In areas such as the cecum, right colon, or narrow airways, where precision and limited thermal dispersion are essential, FiAPC® plus offers reliability and control through stable plasma ignition, reduced tissue adhesion, and optimized energy delivery at the probe tip.
To support gastrointestinal endoscopists and pulmonologists in the application of APC, Erbe complements the launch of FiAPC® plus with a comprehensive clinical training and education offering. This includes hands-on courses, structured learning modules, and in-person support from the Erbe team, helping physicians navigate their APC journey, from first use to specialized application.
FiAPC® plus probes are now available in CE and CE-related markets. Other markets will be available soon. With this latest development, Erbe reaffirms its commitment to pushing the boundaries of APC technology through user-centric innovation and clinical partnerships.
