ThreatX Protect Addresses Critical Need to Protect Against Evolving Application and API Security Threats

A10 Networks has announced the acquisition of key assets and personnel from ThreatX Protect, reinforcing its commitment to cybersecurity innovation. This strategic move enhances A10’s portfolio with advanced Web Application and API Protection (WAAP) capabilities, helping enterprises defend against the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape. The acquisition has officially closed and is projected to contribute modestly to A10’s earnings per share in 2025.

With cyberattacks on web applications and APIs becoming increasingly sophisticated, organizations require robust security solutions. ThreatX Protect offers a state-of-the-art WAAP solution that leverages behavioral analytics and risk profiling to safeguard enterprises against modern threats, including vulnerabilities in AI-driven applications. Delivered as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, ThreatX Protect provides API protection, bot management, and a next-generation web application firewall (WAF).

A10 Networks’ Vision for Enhanced Security

Seamless Integration and Future Growth

Following this transition, ThreatX’s remaining assets will be rebranded under Run Security, featuring TX Prevent—an advanced eBPF-based security solution relaunched as RS Prevent.

Advancing Hybrid Security Solutions

The integration of ThreatX Protect into the A10 Defend portfolio strengthens A10’s ability to support organizations with hybrid security approaches. This enhancement ensures protection for applications and APIs across diverse environments, including public and private clouds, co-location facilities, and on-premises infrastructure. A10 Defend already offers comprehensive solutions such as hybrid DDoS protection, DDoS threat intelligence, and bot mitigation. The addition of a full-featured WAAP solution further solidifies A10’s commitment to securing mission-critical applications with end-to-end security.

While specific terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, this acquisition aligns with A10’s strategic goal of expanding its security offerings to accelerate growth in the enterprise market. The transaction does not materially impact A10’s 2025 financial outlook or long-term business strategy.
