Accenture Acquires IAMConcepts to Boost Cybersecurity in Canada

Accenture

Accenture has acquired IAMConcepts, a Canadian identity and access management (IAM) services provider, strengthening its cybersecurity expertise across critical infrastructure sectors including financial services, power utilities, mining, and transportation.

IAMConcepts, headquartered in Toronto with a nationwide presence, specializes in delivering comprehensive IAM solutions such as Identity Governance and Administration, Privileged Access Management, and Customer Identity and Access Management. Since its founding in 2013, the company has successfully completed hundreds of projects for major Canadian banks, insurance providers, universities, and organizations operating in critical infrastructure.

“As AI accelerates the threat landscape, organizations must rethink their approach to identity security. Yet most identity and access management programs still focus predominantly on human users,” said Paolo Dal Cin, global lead, Accenture Cybersecurity. “By combining IAMConcepts’ technical skills and critical infrastructure knowledge with Accenture’s end-to-end cybersecurity services and expertise, we will help our clients to secure digital identities through a more holistic approach to threat detection.”

Research from Accenture’s State of Cybersecurity Resilience 2025 report highlights that 67% of organizations still depend on legacy IAM systems. These outdated frameworks often lack the scalability, modern security features, and user experience required to address today’s rapidly evolving digital risks. Strengthening identity security is now essential to building digital trust, enabling innovation, and driving business resilience.

“Agentic and generative AI has completely changed the game on both sides of the fight, making strong and robust IAM protections even more critical for business resilience,” said Fahad Kabir, CEO at IAMConcepts. “We are excited to join the Accenture team, expanding our capabilities to help protect clients as they navigate this new arena, where hackers and cyber threats may no longer just be a real person behind a keyboard.”

Kristine Osgoode, Canada lead, Accenture Cybersecurity, added: “Cyberattacks can have devastating consequences on Canadian organizations and the country’s economy, safety and national security. As threats continue to grow more complex, strengthening identity security is crucial to a strong digital core and proactive risk management. Together with IAMConcepts, we will continue to partner with our clients as a strategic enabler, bringing a robust team with deep technical proficiency, strong ecosystem partnerships and innovation that drives trust and long-term success.”

With this acquisition, Accenture further enhances its position as a cybersecurity leader, helping organizations modernize IAM frameworks to meet the challenges of AI-driven threats and increasingly complex digital ecosystems.
