Cymulate Expands Capabilities with Acquisition of CYNC Secure for Enhanced Threat Management

Cymulate

On January 7, 2025, Cymulate, a leader in threat exposure validation, announced the acquisition of CYNC Secure, an Israel-based cybersecurity startup specializing in enhancing operational efficiency for exposure management programs. This acquisition will expedite the launch of Cymulate’s comprehensive Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) platform in 2025, integrating CYNC Secure’s unique approach to consolidating diverse vulnerability datasets.

As security operations teams face an expanding attack surface, increasing threats, and limited resources, only 5% of vulnerabilities are patched monthly. Cymulate’s platform will focus on proof of exploitability in a simple, scalable manner, enabling more effective remediation decisions.

Cymulate’s CEO and Co-founder, Eyal Wachsman, emphasized the importance of validating vulnerabilities, threats, and security controls for effective exposure management. He noted the need for improved solutions to enhance the operational efficiency of the entire process, including synchronizing workflows with asset mapping, exposure discovery, and leveraging results for prioritizing remediation. Cymulate and CYNC Secure share this mission.

Founded in 2022, CYNC Secure empowers security teams by simplifying data collection and normalization from a wide range of security solutions. It integrates with various tools to standardize security data and provide actionable insights, prioritizing vulnerabilities based on risk and impact. CYNC Secure uses AI to convert these insights into tailored, actionable recommendations for each organization.

The Cymulate platform allows companies to assess their resilience to threats. By incorporating CYNC Secure’s capabilities, such as aggregating vulnerabilities from various sources, organizations will be able to implement a unique, contextual exposure management program that accelerates integrations, expands to cloud-native web application vulnerabilities, aggregates exposures, and translates exposures into tasks and remediation plans.

As part of the acquisition, CYNC Secure’s core development and leadership team will merge with Cymulate, including co-founder and CEO Meir Abergel, who will join Cymulate as Vice President of Business Development and Alliances. In this role, Abergel will focus on building partnerships, developing new use cases, and introducing new solutions to the market.

Abergel stated that Cymulate’s continuous security validation approach aligns perfectly with CYNC’s operational focus. He highlighted how Cymulate’s ability to simulate real-world threats complements CYNC Secure‘s data centralization and remediation workflows, accelerating value realization for customers adopting CTEM programs. This partnership, driven by a shared commitment to customer-first innovation, aims to address real-world cybersecurity challenges.
