Hornetsecurity boosts IT security with its new AI Cyber Assistant, empowering admins and end users to enhance threat detection and response.
Hornetsecurity, a global leader in cloud-based cybersecurity solutions, announced the launch of its AI Cyber Assistant—integrated into the revamped 365 Total Protection Plan 4. This cutting-edge innovation introduces two major features designed to improve both IT efficiency and end-user security awareness.
Email Security Analyst
Leveraging advanced large language models, Email Security Analyst automates the analysis and response process for emails flagged as suspicious. By doing so, it significantly reduces the workload on Security Operations Center (SOC) and IT service desk teams, while at the same time empowering end users. The tool provides clear AI-driven insights about each flagged email, educating users on identifying malicious content and guiding them on the appropriate level of vigilance—bolstering the organization’s human firewall.
Teams Protection
Recognizing that collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams are increasingly targeted by cybercriminals, Hornetsecurity introduces Teams Protection. This AI-powered feature continuously monitors Teams messages—analyzing URLs, images, QR codes, and embedded text—to detect phishing attempts, malware, and impersonation. Admins can swiftly remove malicious conversations and block compromised users within the central 365 Total Protection control panel.
These capabilities build on the existing AI Recipient Validation feature, which has now been upgraded and integrated into Plan 4 to guard against email misdirection and data leaks.

Enriched by AI Cyber Assistant, Plan 4 provides a comprehensive suite of Microsoft 365 security, backup, and governance-risk-compliance (GRC) tools—all accessible from a streamlined, multi-tenant control panel. This unified platform empowers admins to act faster, while keeping users informed and alert.
Daniel Hofmann, CEO of Hornetsecurity, commented: “To continue enhancing the next‑gen security we provide, our new AI‑powered Email Security Analyst automates responses to user queries about potential threats, alleviating the workload on SOC and service desk teams, while educating end users on the nature of attacks. IT security personnel benefit by gaining more time to focus on other pressing issues, while end users receive instant feedback, which also encourages them to continue reporting suspicious emails and contribute to the organization’s overall security.”
Hofmann added: “Instant messaging platforms like Microsoft Teams are increasingly used as a main channel of business communications, and yet they tend to be overlooked as a potential attack vector. However, attackers are sending malicious links and malware both through Teams that are open externally and also via compromised internal Teams accounts. We have therefore developed Teams Protection to address this growing cybersecurity threat.”
