Resecurity & AfricaCERT Partner to Boost Africa’s Cybersecurity

Resecurity

Resecurity, Inc., a leading U.S.-based cybersecurity and threat intelligence provider, has formalized a Joint Cooperation Agreement with AfricaCERT, the continent’s foremost organization coordinating computer emergency response teams (CERTs) and national cybersecurity centers. This strategic alliance aims to bolster Africa’s cyber resilience through advanced threat intelligence sharing, capacity building, and coordinated incident response.

Advancing Regional Cyber Defense Capabilities

Under the agreement, Resecurity will equip AfricaCERT with direct access to its advanced Context™ and Risk™ cyber threat intelligence (CTI) platforms. These solutions enable national-level threat monitoring, cyber risk analysis, and digital investigations, empowering AfricaCERT to detect data leaks in real time, uncover malicious activities targeting African digital assets, and assess emerging cyber threats impacting both public and private sector organizations. Resecurity’s CTI tools are the same systems trusted by NGOs worldwide to combat human trafficking, financial fraud, and other illicit activities.

AfricaCERT’s leadership underscored the vital role of timely and accurate threat intelligence in safeguarding critical infrastructure, financial systems, and citizen data across Africa.

“Our main objective is to monitor, in real time, data related to information leaks and threats specifically targeting African countries,” said Mr. Kodzo Gadzekpo Adomey, Operations Manager at AfricaCERT. “Through this collaboration, we gain visibility into global threat actors and campaigns that are impacting our region, and we strengthen our ability to coordinate international responses in a timely and effective manner.”

A Unified Approach to Intelligence-Led Security

Resecurity’s intelligence network draws from multiple sources, including the deep and dark web, closed forums, malware telemetry, and exposed data repositories. Leveraging this capability will allow AfricaCERT to identify early indicators of cyberattacks and act decisively to minimize risk across national and regional networks.

“We are honored to work alongside AfricaCERT in building stronger cyber defense capabilities throughout the continent,” said Shawn Loveland, Chief Operating Officer of Resecurity. “This partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to promoting proactive, intelligence-led cybersecurity and advancing digital trust in the African region to support the continent’s digitization.”

Building Skills, Sharing Knowledge, and Responding to Threats

The collaboration extends beyond technology, encompassing initiatives such as:

  • Specialized training programs, workshops, and joint cyber exercises.

  • Intelligence sharing on cybercrime patterns, advanced persistent threats (APTs), and fraud targeting African nations.

  • Joint participation in international cybersecurity events and expert panels.

  • Coordinated responses to large-scale incidents and cross-border cyber threats.

AfricaCERT will also assist Resecurity in expanding its regional footprint through advocacy, references, and participation in cybersecurity capacity-building programs. Regular strategy meetings will ensure both parties stay aligned on emerging risks and evolving threat landscapes.

Governance, Confidentiality, and Long-Term Goals

The agreement defines clear protocols on confidentiality, data usage, and intellectual property rights, alongside mutual responsibilities for maintaining trust with stakeholders. Both parties have pledged to uphold strict data protection policies and work toward a unified vision for a resilient African cyber ecosystem.

This partnership not only represents a milestone in Resecurity’s international growth strategy but also reinforces AfricaCERT’s position as a leader in uniting cybersecurity and incident response teams to defend the continent’s digital future.
