Tufin Partners with Akamai to Deliver Integrated Microsegmentation and Policy Automation

Tufin

Tufin and Akamai have teamed up to create an integrated security solution. This solution combines policy automation with microsegmentation, allowing enterprises to implement Zerto Trust strategies effectively. Their partnership brings together Akamai Guardicore Segmentation and Tufins network security posture management platform. This collaboration gives organizations a unified way of seeing and controlling all their complex IT environments.

It is very hard to maintain security policies consistently when enterprises are moving to hybrid infrastructures, cloud platforms firewalls SASE, and SD-WAN technologies. And on top of that, AI-driven and automated systems have made it so that infrastructure changes happen at a fast pace which has further raised the risk of misconfigurations and exposures. To gain unauthorized access within networks, attackers take advantage of the gaps that often exist, especially in environments where there is no strong segmentation control.

The joint offering tackles these problems by combining segmentation enforcement and policy management in a single control plane. Akamai Guardicore Segmentation implements Zero Trust at the workload level, which includes preventing systems from communicating unnecessarily and thereby lowering the risk of threat propagation. Tufin, on the other hand, provides a centralized governance system that aids security teams not only to keep an eye on segmentation policies but also to analyze and manage them with other types of controls in real-time.

“Microsegmentation is a critical component of Zero Trust architectures, but without centralized visibility and compliance, it can quickly create operational complexity,” said Raymond Brancato, Tufin CEO. “As organizations enter an era of increasingly automated and AI-driven infrastructure, combining Akamai Guardicore Segmentation with Tufin will give them the ability to connect segmentation enforcement with broader network security workflows, using the AI-powered Tufin platform to ensure consistent policy management, enforcement, compliance, and security posture.”

The integrated platform allows policy analysis, detection of overly permissive rules, identification of mismatch between intended and enforced policies, and audit tracking that is very detailed and helps with regulatory compliance. Security teams are able to see their segmentation strategy in hybrid environments, figure out where the risks are, and make sure that the policies are always in line with company standards.

“Akamai is committed to helping organizations implement practical Zero Trust strategies that reduce risk without slowing innovation,” said Domingo Tellez, VP Global Sales, Enterprise Security at Akamai. “The combination of Akamai Guardicore Segmentation with Tufin offers customers greater visibility and governance over segmentation policies, making it easier and more efficient to scale Zero Trust security initiatives across today’s growing network environments.”

By integrating enforcement with centralized oversight, the partnership enables organizations to reduce risk, streamline operations, and scale Zero Trust security more effectively across distributed networks.
