Global industrial IoT solutions leader Advantech Co., Ltd. is collaborating with wireless test and measurement specialist Rohde & Schwarz to deliver “compliant & deployment-ready” industrial-grade Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be) modules, combining Advantech’s industrial wireless platforms with R&S’s expertise in signalling/RF measurements, pre-compliance and OTA/interoperability testing. By adopting this joint validation framework early in R&D and pilot phases, the companies aim to help customers shorten multi-region certification cycles, reduce deployment risk and accelerate time-to-market. The new Advantech “AIW-173” module series targets demanding use cases in medical imaging, robotics/AMR, rugged devices and ProAV environments where high throughput, low latency and robust reliability are critical enabled by Wi-Fi 7 capabilities such as Multi-Link Operation (MLO), ultra-wide 320 MHz channels and 6 GHz band support.

As Jerry Chiang, Director of Embedded IoT Group at Advantech, says: “By moving design validation, pre-compliance, and OTA/interoperability earlier into R&D and pre-pilot stages, we ensure a verifiable and scalable wireless experience and enable customers to adopt Wi-Fi 7 faster, across more countries and regions.” And Sean Ting, Senior Regional Sales Manager at Rohde & Schwarz, adds: “R&S has been specializing in wireless testing and regulatory verification for a long time. We are excited to assist Advantech’s Wi-Fi 7 module development process and to provide support on important Wi-Fi 7 features like MLO and 320 MHz. The industrial markets also need support for high data throughput to fulfil unmanned applications.” The collaboration emphasises key attributes including compliance acceleration, field-grade reliability and unified pre-production quality assurance flow to validate performance in complex environments such as factories, hospitals and large venues.
