Anthropic Expands Claude’s Financial Services Capabilities

Anthropic

Anthropic has announced a significant expansion of its flagship AI model Claude for the financial services industry, introducing a new Excel add-in, real-time market data connectors, and six pre-built “Agent Skills” geared toward tasks like discounted cash flow modelling and initiating coverage reports. These enhancements build on the Sonnet 4.5 model’s performance which topped the Finance Agent benchmark at 55.3 % accuracy. With the Excel sidebar beta (available for Max, Enterprise and Teams users) Claude can now interact with workbook cells, explain its changes, debug formulas and build new spreadsheets, while additional connectors allow access to earnings-call transcripts (Aiera), private equity portfolio data (Chronograph), live market pricing (LSEG), credit-rating research (Moody’s) and multi-asset-class news (MT Newswires).

Claude excels by seamlessly integrating multiple data sources and automating workflows that previously consumed significant time.” With these upgrades, Anthropic positions Claude as a comprehensive AI solution tuned for the demands of finance-industry workflows.
