Kyndryl has announced a new agentic AI-enabled approach to SAP modernization aimed at helping enterprises accelerate and de-risk their migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA with improved efficiency and reduced complexity, introducing what it calls the Clean Field methodology in collaboration with Nova Intelligence that leverages agentic AI to customize and remediate SAP software code throughout the transformation journey and deliver a clean core foundation for customer systems. This Clean Field approach targets the challenges of traditional SAP upgrades that are often slow and burdened by legacy technical debt, enabling organizations to simplify and streamline their SAP ERP evolution with less manual effort, a more modular, adaptive system architecture and support for long-term innovation. “Enterprises can no longer afford SAP transformations that are slow, rigid or weighed down by legacy complexity,” said Michael Bradshaw, Global Practice Leader for Applications, Data and AI at Kyndryl. “By combining our Clean Field approach and deep SAP expertise with agentic AI, we’re giving customers a faster, more disciplined path to SAP S/4HANA one that reduces technical debt, requires less manual effort, accelerates outcomes and creates a digital foundation built for long-term innovation.” The solution also complements Kyndryl’s IT modernization services and can be tailored to customers’ specific business goals while embedding agentic AI throughout the transformation workflow.

Kyndryl and SAP are also jointly driving, in addition to the “Clean Field,” a set of AI-infused capabilities on SAP solutions to enable enterprises to create reliable and efficient digital foundations and move value faster. This includes integrating SAP Business Data Cloud with Databricks for building AI models and generative AI solutions through harmonized data; SAP Cloud ERP transformation experiences enriched in real-time with intelligent insights to accelerate time-to-value in terms of fit gap analysis, data transition, and optimization after going live; and using SAP Signavio AI capabilities for process visibility and optimization to mitigate risk and speed up transformation design and execution. Additionally, Kyndryl is utilizing AI-related services in SAP LeanIX for fully automatic automation of manual processes, support in transformation and data-related planning, and governance-to-value faster and in an agile manner based on customer needs in dealing with complexities using SAP modernization solutions.
