Quectel Launches AR588MA: World’s First 5G-Advanced Automotive-Grade Cellular Module

Quectel

Quectel Wireless Solutions has unveiled the AR588MA, the industry’s first 5G-Advanced (5G-A) automotive-grade cellular module compliant with the 3GPP R18 standard, designed to set a new benchmark in vehicle connectivity by delivering industry-leading performance, stability and reliability for intelligent, connected vehicles worldwide. Built on MediaTek’s latest MT2739 platform, the AR588MA supports 5G-A communication and integrates both NB-NTN and NR-NTN satellite communication capabilities, Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) technology for enhanced connection reliability, and intelligent driving scenario recognition to adapt connectivity dynamically. Designed to meet AEC-Q104 Grade 2 automotive standards, the module delivers faster, more stable in-vehicle connectivity and robust security for communication and on-roof applications such as smart antennas, while also integrating dual-band GNSS (supporting L1 and L5 bands up to 30 Hz output) and a six-port antenna design with proprietary power and antenna compensation technologies for wide-coverage, high-performance wireless connectivity. “The move to 5G-Advanced represents a major milestone in automotive connectivity, addressing the growing demands of next-generation vehicles for higher data rates, ultra-low latency, and uncompromising reliability,” said Min Wang, President, Automotive Business Unit, Quectel Wireless Solutions. “As the world’s first 5G-Advanced automotive-grade cellular module, the AR588MA reinforces Quectel’s commitment to advancing in-vehicle connectivity and supporting the evolution of intelligent, connected vehicles worldwide.”
