Xanadu and A*STAR Deepen Collaboration to Boost Photonic Quantum Innovation in Singapore

Xanadu Quantum Technologies Inc. has expanded its partnership with Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (ASTAR) through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), broadening collaboration across multiple ASTAR institutes to drive advancements in photonic quantum computing and establish long-term research cooperation, including joint labs and potential operations in Singapore, as both organizations aim to leverage their combined strengths in hardware, software, integrated photonics, quantum light source development and advanced packaging to accelerate progress toward fault-tolerant quantum systems and strengthen Singapore’s role as a global hub for next-generation quantum technologies.

“This expanded collaboration with ASTAR enables us to progress our photonic quantum computing platform and accelerate our path to deliver fault-tolerant quantum computers that can solve real-world problems,” said Christian Weedbrook, Founder and CEO of Xanadu, while Prof Yeo Yee Chia, Deputy Chief Executive (Innovation & Enterprise) of ASTAR, added, “We are excited to deploy our research expertise, design capabilities and industry-grade facilities to help companies shorten development cycles and create a pathway from early-stage quantum concepts to manufacturable solutions,” reflecting mutual commitment to explore photonic quantum hardware and software innovations and support future developments, with Xanadu concurrently advancing its business combination with Crane Harbor Acquisition Corp. to form Xanadu Quantum Technologies Limited, expected to be listed on Nasdaq and the Toronto Stock Exchange with approximately US$500 million in gross proceeds to further fuel its mission of making practical quantum computers broadly available.
