Veeam Expands Microsoft Sentinel Support for Stronger Security

Veeam Software

Veeam Software, the global leader in data resilience, announced the introduction of its new Veeam App for Microsoft Sentinel. The app delivers deep integration with the Veeam Data Platform and enables organisations to detect, investigate and respond to cybersecurity threats and backup anomalies from within the Sentinel environment.

“With our new app for Microsoft Sentinel, data resilience meets security intelligence, empowering organisations with instant visibility into backup security events, suspicious activity, and ransomware threats.”

As cyber-attacks increasingly target backup environments, many Security Operations Centres (SOCs) face a critical visibility gap in their ecosystem, leaving backups the last line of defence vulnerable. The Veeam App for Microsoft Sentinel closes this gap by bringing backup intelligence directly into SOC workflows. This unified integration allows IT and security teams to collaborate in real time, detect incidents earlier and respond more swiftly and cohesively.

The solution embeds within Microsoft Sentinel’s cloud-native SIEM platform and surfaces valuable backup, threat and ransomware intelligence through the Veeam Data Platform. Security teams gain access to job failure alerts, suspicious activity indicators and adversary tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) identified by Veeam’s Recon Scanner all mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK framework for accelerated threat detection.

Built-in automation and API connectivity enable SOC teams to trigger restores, run malware scans and launch remediation workflows from within Microsoft Sentinel. Native dashboards provide unified visibility of backup health, threat detections, restore activities and other critical signals alongside existing SOC data. This enables more efficient investigations and a stronger compliance posture.

By integrating IT and security workflows, the app helps break down operational silos, accelerating incident response and strengthening ransomware defence. Veeam’s latest offering extends its security visibility and recovery automation capabilities directly into the Microsoft Sentinel ecosystem, helping organisations defend against evolving cyber threats and ensure robust data resilience.

The Veeam App for Microsoft Sentinel is now available at no additional cost for customers with Veeam Data Platform Advanced and Premium editions via the Microsoft Marketplace and the Sentinel Content Hub.
