N-able Introduces AI-Native UEM with MCP Server and N-zo Assistant

N-able

N-able has rolled out a significant enhancement of its Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) suite that also marks a move towards AI-powered IT operations. The firm stated the unveiling of a customized Model Context Protocol (MCP) server coupled with N-zo, a native AI assistant, which together will enable IT and security teams to evolve from reaction-based workflows to real-time, AI-driven execution.

The MCP server offers a way to work with popular AI tools and live operational data within N-able’s UEM solutions, such as N-central and N-sight, in a very natural manner. In the past, teams have had to depend on inflexible APIs and manual methods to interconnect systems, which has kept the use of AI quite limited in practice. Through the MCP server, enterprises can establish a secure connection between tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot right in their environments, making it possible for them to query data and execute actions under control immediately.

This process creates more flexibility in choosing models, makes the process of work of AI fit the operations, and makes sure that the access to sensitive data is controlled. This will allow for the development of an open environment, where AI can be integrated into various AI systems and partners. By allowing access to AI on telemetry, N-able intends to turn AI from just analytics into active participation in IT operations.

Complementing this capability is N-zo, an embedded AI assistant designed to accelerate issue resolution. Built directly into the UEM interface, N-zo leverages live system data to provide actionable insights, identify root causes, and recommend remediation steps. It can also generate reports and briefings instantly, helping teams reduce manual effort and stay focused on higher-value tasks.

Early feedback highlights its impact. “This is probably one of the best and quickest ways that I found value. I’m getting to skip support for a bunch of things. It’s already saved me so much time,” said Louis Oosthuizen, Software Engineer at Zhero.

“IT and security teams are under constant pressure, managing more tools and more data with less time to act,” said Nicole Reineke, Chief AI Officer at N-able. “The MCP server securely connects AI tools to live environments, turning AI from isolated insight into controlled, real-time action. N-zo complements that by embedding intelligence directly into N-central and N-sight as an in-product AI that understands the environments technicians manage, and accelerates resolution so teams can focus on proactive work instead of constant firefighting.”

Together, these innovations position N-able at the forefront of AI-native IT management, offering organizations a more efficient and responsive approach to endpoint operations.
