Extreme Networks is rolling out the Extreme Agent ONE™, an entirely new generation of AI agents that can help make autonomous enterprise networking possible through AI reasoning, network context awareness, and operational experience embedded in the Extreme AI suite. This marks the departure from prompt-driven AI solutions where Agent ONE turns networks into intelligent entities that can identify problems, take informed decisions, and initiate actions autonomously while operating within governance policies, thereby ensuring minimal disruptions, quick problem resolution, and greater efficiency. “As networks begin to think, adapt, and act in real-time, the relationship between human users and AI agents will rapidly evolve, making simplicity and control essential to success. Our vision is autonomous networking at scale delivered on a foundation of trust between humans and AI agents, which means fewer disruptions, faster outcomes, and operational efficiency,” said Nabil Bukhari, CTO and President of AI Platforms at Extreme Networks.

The first deployment mode, Agent ONE Coworker, expected in Q3 2026, will work alongside IT teams through a conversational interface, proactively monitoring network activity, identifying anomalies, and executing fixes while providing contextual recommendations via its “Nudge” capability. The next mode, which is scheduled to arrive in Q4 2026, is Agent ONE Operator, which will provide similar capabilities for full autonomy in network operations that are on all the time, learning continuously, and executing independently. The system is powered by an AI-based closed loop framework. This system combines data, automation, and intelligence to achieve real-time optimization.
