Trellix, the cybersecurity company delivering the future of extended detection and response (XDR), announced its Ransomware Detection and Response Virtual Summit, co-sponsored by AWS, will take place August 23 and 24, 2023. More than 3,000 have registered to hear insights from leading cybersecurity experts on how to strengthen their security posture and protect against cybercriminals.
rellix’s 2023 Mind of the CISO research found over half of organizations use 20+ security solutions. And even with so many tools, only 34% of CISOs have what is needed to be cyber resilient. Ransomware is not an “if” but a “when,” and this lucrative business for cybercriminals continues to increase steadily.
“Ransomware doesn’t discriminate based on size or industry, so it is imperative organizations across the board adopt a comprehensive approach to security,” said Harold Rivas, CISO at Trellix. “Adopting AI-powered solutions to help decrease the Mean Time to Investigate (MTTI), Mean Time to Detect (MTTD), and Mean Time to Respond (MTTR) to ransomware threats will help improve SOC efficiencies and strengthen operational resilience.”

The summit will equip organizations to uncover and respond to top ransomware threats faster and strengthen their resilience with Trellix’s comprehensive AI-powered platform. It will take an educational approach to sharing ransomware trends and provide real-world lessons, inspecting the anatomy of a ransomware attack, and discussing best practices and solutions to minimize time to detect and respond. Sessions include:
Malicious Innovation: Ransomware Trends
Speaker Keren Elazari – The Friendly Hacker, Security Analyst, Researcher, and Author
Understand how ransomware is evolving, what the future holds for cybersecurity, and how you can stay ahead of hackers
Lessons from the Ransomware Front Lines
Speaker Ryan J. Leszczynski – Supervisory Special Agent, FBI, Cyber Division
Gain real-world insights from an FBI special agent on lessons learned in detecting and responding to ransomware attacks and stopping cybercriminals
Anatomy of a Ransomware Attack
Speaker John Fokker – Head of Threat Intelligence, Trellix Advanced Research Center
Uncover the step-by-step path of a ransomware attack with Trellix’s renowned threat intelligence expert and learn how to accelerate detection and response
“Protecting the organization from ransomware threats remains a top priority for CISOs,” said Sami Khoury, Head of the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, featured in the CISO panel discussion during the event. “It is important we continue to learn from each other and share best practices to continuously build cybersecurity within our organizations to stay ahead of threat actors. Ransomware is not going anywhere, and we need to adapt and evolve to be quicker and better at defending and responding to these threats.”
