Ant International Launches AI SHIELD to Boost Financial Security

Ant International

Ant International, a global leader in digital payments, fintech, and financial digitization, has officially unveiled AI SHIELD, a proactive security toolkit designed to protect AI systems from threats and vulnerabilities. The solution aims to help AI-driven financial services remain secure, reliable, and compliant as artificial intelligence rapidly transforms global finance.

Security forms the foundation of Ant International’s AI strategy, which also emphasizes domain excellence in FinAI and extends AI services through its AI-as-a-Service platform. AI is deeply integrated across all stages of the company’s payment processing operations. In 2024 alone, Ant International facilitated over US$1 trillion in global transactions, all powered by AI.

AI SHIELD leverages the AI Security Docker to mitigate the unreliability inherent in AI systems, addressing issues such as bias, security vulnerabilities, and ethical concerns. According to the European Journal of Futures Research, AI-related incidents could lead to an annual potential cost of US$57 billion. Despite the widespread adoption of LLM tools used by up to 90% of organizations only 5% of companies express high confidence in their AI security readiness.

Anchoring Reliable AI with AI Security Docker

The AI Security Docker ensures that AI systems used for fraud detection, payment authorization, and chatbots operate safely, reliably, and in regulatory compliance. It provides end-to-end protection from AI model development to deployment, reducing risks associated with AI-powered services.

A common risk is over-delegation, which can compromise the reliability of AI agents in processing payments. While agents provide enhanced automation and efficiency, LLM-reliant applications face vulnerabilities. Without robust controls, agent-delegated operations may perform unsafe or unauthorized actions.

Ant International’s AI Security Docker mitigates these risks by up to 90% through three core processes:

  • Agent Trustworthiness Authentication – Security evaluation and risk assessment for AI agents before deployment on the Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit.

  • AI Service Safeguard – Real-time monitoring and intervention to block emerging threats using multilayer intent recognition.

  • Dynamic Patrolling & AI Red Teaming – Continuous inspection and adversarial testing to resolve vulnerabilities swiftly.

Full-Cycle Protection of Financial Transactions

Serving over 100 million merchants and 1.8 billion user accounts, Ant International delivers services such as global wallet gateway Alipay+, merchant payment solutions Antom, embedded finance and credit tech Bettr, and global account services WorldFirst.

AI SHIELD’s risk-management solutions provide full-lifecycle protection for financial transactions, defending businesses and users against fraud, scams, and deepfake attacks. For example, the Alipay+ EasySafePay 360, launched in September 2025, reduces account takeover incidents in digital wallet payments by 90%.

Strengthening Trust through Industry Partnerships

Ant International has extended its trusted AI capabilities through initiatives like the Digital Wallet Guardian Partnership, collaborating with AlipayHK and TNG eWallet to reinforce security in global wallet payments.

“Trusted AI could be a defining factor in unlocking the full potential of artificial intelligence in financial services. At Ant International, we are committed to working with industry partners to evolve the most advanced risk management framework for AI, while harnessing AI itself to strengthen our risk management capabilities. We believe a two-pronged approach is essential for driving responsible growth of FinAI,” said Tianyi Zhang, General Manager of Risk Management and Cybersecurity at Ant International.

The company also collaborates with industry leaders such as Google to establish clear security protocols for AI agents as a launch partner of Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), an open rulebook defining how AI agents can securely transact with user authorization. Additionally, the Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit, launched in June 2025, enables fintechs and superapp operators to create custom AI agents and AI-native services for their users.
