Experian has announced the launch of the first-ever credit score application in ChatGPT, marking a new milestone in the integration of financial information and chat-based AI. This launch enables users to test their credit score comparison within the application, providing information based on postcode and age group using aggregated and anonymised information from the credit database.
The new application, available in ChatGPT through @Experian UK, enables users to gain information based on benchmarks that show how their credit score compares to others in similar postcodes or age groups. By providing information based on location and age groups, the application enables users to make more informed financial decisions.
According to Experian, the move is part of its overall strategy to improve transparency about credit information, as well as financial literacy. The tool also gives consumers an easy way to sign up and get their Experian credit score if they wish to take their comparisons to the next level.
As conversational AI technology becomes an increasingly familiar source for consumers to get information about their daily lives, the partnership represents an emerging trend for consumers to get financial information in more accessible digital ways. For many consumers, especially younger consumers who are accustomed to using AI technology as a source for quick information, the partnership could be an introduction to learning about their own credit scores.

The application offers several features designed to simplify financial learning. Users can explore average credit scores across different postcode areas and age groups, navigate a straightforward sign-up process to access their personal score, and interact with financial guidance through a conversational interface. This approach aims to make complex financial information easier to grasp, particularly for individuals who may feel less confident managing credit.
Edu Castro, Managing Director of Experian Consumer Services UK&I, said: “By bringing the power of Experian’s trusted data into a leading AI platform, we’re giving people a quick and simple way to explore how their credit score compares locally and by age – making it easier for them to sign up to Experian to discover their personalised score and insights.”
The launch also aligns with Experian’s strategy to deliver intelligent, secure digital experiences across external platforms. With younger adults forming a significant portion of ChatGPT’s user base but often being less engaged with credit monitoring, the new tool aims to bridge that gap and expand access to financial education.
