GitLab Expands Access to Agentic AI Across the Software Development Lifecycle

GitLab

GitLab has announced the launch of version 18.10, which enhances access to agentic artificial intelligence capabilities while making them more affordable for the entire software development lifecycle. This version allows teams using the free tier of GitLab.com to utilize the GitLab Duo Agent Platform through the flexible GitLab Credits model, which does not require any seat-based pricing for broader adoption. This move comes at a time when the development landscape is facing a significant challenge as artificial intelligence capabilities have accelerated coding significantly while leaving downstream processes such as testing, security checks, and code reviews behind as bottlenecks for teams.

In an attempt to resolve this issue, GitLab has introduced agentic code reviews at a fixed cost of $0.25 per review, which will help teams scale their code reviews while reducing the time wasted on manual reviews. In addition, GitLab has introduced generally available false positive detection for security scanning through the use of artificial intelligence capabilities while assessing vulnerabilities, their likelihood of false positives, and prioritization for faster remediation.
