NetApp and Elastio Partner to Strengthen Multi-Layered Ransomware Resilience

NetApp

NetApp and Elastio have formed a strategic partnership. Their goal is to boost ransomware resilience through a multi-layered security approach. This strategy covers everything from primary storage to backup recovery. As ransomware threats become more advanced, they can infiltrate production systems and hide in backups. This collaboration seeks to ensure data integrity throughout its entire lifecycle. The integration embeds Elastio’s “Provable Recovery Control” into the NetApp Ransomware Resilience Service, adding deep file inspection capabilities for snapshots and enabling continuous validation of recovery points. This combined solution allows organizations to detect ransomware in real time, isolate threats, and ensure clean, reliable data restoration without architectural changes.

“Storage solutions must be considered when defining a holistic cybersecurity strategy,” said Gagan Gulati, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Data Services at NetApp. “By protecting data where it resides, we prioritize storage to mitigate cyber threats like ransomware. However, too much is at stake for business resilience and continuity to rely on a single layer of defense. By partnering with Elastio, we are providing organizations with another tool to protect their most valuable asset: their data.” The partnership highlights how crucial storage-level security is for today’s cyber resilience strategies.
