Snap and Qualcomm Deepen Partnership to Power Next-Gen AR Specs

Snap Inc. and Qualcomm Technologies have entered into a strategic partnership that will provide technology for the next generation of Snap’s augmented reality eyewear, the Specs, which are built to combine virtual experiences with reality. This collaboration marks the first flagship product by Specs Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Snap Inc., who is going to take advantage of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR platforms in order to make the device deliver high performance at low power consumption with the help of on-device artificial intelligence. As stated by Qualcomm, the developments above guarantee fast and private communication and improved context awareness during immersive experiences, meaning that the user would be capable of experiencing real-life digital reality.
