Piraeus has teamed up with Accenture to create a new AI Hub, backed by Anthropic. This hub will speed up AI use across the bank and set a standard for AI in Greek banking. It will be essential for building and expanding AI in operations, customer experience, risk, and compliance. The project also aims to update the bank’s tech systems. This initiative combines Accenture’s AI skills and the Athens Data & AI Center with Piraeus’ plans. It aims to build talent through targeted hiring and training programs. A major goal is to create secure, responsible, and human-centered AI solutions.

These will help improve decision-making and simplify complex processes. “The AI Hub represents a strategic inflection point for Piraeus,” said Harry Margaritis, Group Chief Operating Officer, Piraeus. “We are advancing from individual AI deployments to a unified, enterprise-level capability that is deeply embedded in how the Bank operates.” The collaboration marks a significant change in how banks embrace scalable, governed AI. It strengthens trust, ensures compliance, and fosters long-term innovation.
