Lightyear Enterprise Telecommunications Software Company has unveiled the introduction of the world’s first agentic platform in the enterprise telecom space, announcing the availability of Lightyear Dispatch along with its first two dedicated operational AI agents. With the intention to disrupt the manner in which network connectivity is sourced, provisioned, and managed, this release is the beginning of a larger rollout plan in which AI agents will be introduced to all stages of the enterprise telecom lifecycle by 2027.
However, despite being worth well over $1 trillion annually, the industry continues to be highly dependent on manual processes, siloed carrier portals, non-existent serviceability information, and non-transparent pricing. Lightyear’s agentic framework resolves this complexity by serving as an active system of action, executing end-to-end operational tasks across thousands of global service providers.
“Systems of Record tell you what is true. A System of Action takes the truth and uses it to do work on your behalf,” said Dennis Thankachan, CEO of Lightyear. “Lightyear is building Telecom’s System of Action by combining proprietary data, proven workflows, and specialized AI agents. By 2027, we expect agents to be handling material work across the full lifecycle on behalf of our customers.”

Unifying Telecom Intelligence with Lightyear Dispatch
Serving as the central conversational entry point for the entire platform, Lightyear Dispatch allows IT, finance, and procurement teams to query network inventory data, audit pricing, and build custom reporting dashboards using plain natural language commands.
During early enterprise deployments, customers generated custom spend and inventory reports in a median time of one minute using just two prompts.
Key functional capabilities of Dispatch include:
Instant Network Auditing: Answers complex queries regarding contract renewal dates, above-market pricing anomalies, and single-point-of-failure sites lacking redundant connectivity.
Ad-Hoc Report Generation: Dynamically creates structured data tables, visual charts, and custom executive summaries without relying on static dashboards or manual spreadsheets.
Automated Stakeholder Distribution: Schedules and delivers automated, recurring network reports across IT infrastructure, procurement, and executive leadership teams.
Platform Orchestration: Acts as the primary control interface to initiate automated workflows across Procurement, Network Inventory Management, and Telecom Expense Management.
“Dispatch gave me the answer I was looking for within a couple of minutes. I was able to ask a question about our circuit orders and get updated information back in a clear, organized way,” said Sian Watts, Director: Processes & Systems at Elauwit.
Specialized AI Agents for Sourcing and Installation
Underpinning the platform are Lightyear’s first two specialized operational agents, engineered using proprietary carrier intelligence spanning more than 2 million historical quotes across 1,200+ global service providers:
The Quoting Agent: Analyzes technical requirements and corporate procurement rules to identify optimal carriers and automate RFP distribution. The agent delivers completed quotes 30% to 50% faster while generating 15% to 25% more qualified carrier bids.
The Implementation Agent: Tracks active circuit installations, monitors project milestones, and analyzes provider communications in real time, executing proactive escalations to reduce overall installation timelines by 5 to 10 days.
To ensure corporate compliance and operational safety, all Lightyear agents operate under customer-defined guardrails, requiring explicit human approval before key procurement or financial actions are executed.
