QIAGEN Expands AI-Powered Bioinformatics for Drug Discovery

QIAGEN

AI-based bioinformatics solutions by QIAGEN have been recently enhanced with the introduction of IPA Investigator, an AI research assistant for QIAGEN Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) software, and QIAGEN Discovery Platform, which integrates AI into drug discovery pipelines. The latest additions are aimed at allowing researchers to make sense of complex biological and genomic data with increased transparency into the scientific foundation of AI-driven conclusions. IPA Investigator is a solution which allows researchers to formulate biological questions using natural language and look up evidence from QIAGEN’s extensive biomedical knowledge database. At the same time, the QIAGEN Discovery Platform incorporates AI into drug discovery processes by combining biomedical knowledge with molecular data to discover drug targets and biomarkers, generate hypotheses, and automate some of the drug discovery processes.

The launches build on more than 25 years of biomedical knowledge from QIAGEN Digital Insights (QDI), whose bioinformatics tools are used by around 150,000 users. QIAGEN is also expanding AI across its digital portfolio, including AI-powered translation in QIAGEN Clinical Insight Interpret and machine learning combined with expert-reviewed information in Franklin by QIAGEN. The company’s approach emphasizes evidence-based AI, addressing concerns around the reliability and transparency of AI-generated scientific insights as researchers handle increasingly complex datasets. The expansion positions QIAGEN to support pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic research organizations seeking to integrate AI into biological analysis and drug discovery while retaining scientific context and confidence in the results.
