AgentShield is a new open-source project created by Solo.io that offers enterprises a way to protect their data, APIs, and services against the attacks from AI agents that work independently from the organization. The product enables security and platform teams to discover attack vectors, uncover infrastructure risks, and counteract threats as autonomous agents grow increasingly sophisticated in exploring the weaknesses of the infrastructure. While other tools are oriented towards ensuring that agents that belong to the organization are secured, AgentShield is aimed at protecting the infrastructure that is accessible for the agents. The platform integrates the data gathered by existing infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, Istio, Cilium, AWS, Falco, and creates an attack path graph that shows connections between workloads, identities, permissions, policies, and network exposure. It also analyzes the changes and generates findings along with evidence, affected infrastructure, and recommendations for remediation.

Assume breach taught the industry to plan for an attacker already inside. Agentshield extends that premise by one step: assume agent, the company explained in its announcement. Security teams can review proposed fixes or authorize approved remediation actions through configured controls. The project is designed to integrate with existing infrastructure rather than requiring changes to the services being protected. AgentShield joins Solo.io’s broader open-source AI infrastructure ecosystem, which includes Agentgateway, Kagent, Agentregistry, and Agentdesktop. The launch reflects a growing focus on securing enterprise environments against AI-driven threats that can operate at machine speed.
