SEALSQ Corp, a developer of semiconductors, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and post-quantum technology, has officially initiated the commercial rollout of its newly acquired quantum photonics technology from Swiss-based Miraex SA. The move follows SEALSQ’s 100% acquisition of Miraex in June 2026.
The strategic buyout serves as a cornerstone in SEALSQ’s overarching vision to establish the industry’s first Quantum Sovereign Vertical Stack—a unified technology infrastructure spanning post-quantum cryptography, secure semiconductor hardware, quantum computing, quantum networking, and quantum communications.
Strategic Integration & Sovereign Stack Expansion
Finalized on June 2, 2026, the transaction was backed by SEALSQ’s $200 million Quantum Fund (SEALQUANTUM.com), which has directed over $65 million into high-impact quantum technologies to date. Located at the EPFL Innovation Park in Ecublens, Switzerland, Miraex now serves as the anchor for SEALSQ’s quantum photonics developments.

Pioneering Quantum Interconnect Architecture
At the center of Miraex’s portfolio is its proprietary Thin Film Lithium Tantalate Photonic Integrated Circuit (TFLT PIC) architecture. The technology bridges a critical gap in scalable quantum infrastructure by converting quantum data between microwave frequencies (utilized by superconducting quantum processors) and optical frequencies (required for long-distance optical communications).
SEALSQ is focusing its commercial deployment across four major high-growth sectors:
- Distributed Quantum Computing (DQC): Integration of individual quantum computers to develop scalable quantum supercomputing systems.
- Quantum Networking: Provision of photonic infrastructure for wide-scale deployment of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and future quantum networks.
- Quantum Sensing: Development of highly sensitive photonic technologies for applications in GPS-denied navigation, defense systems, industrial sensing, and infrastructure monitoring.
