OneStream Expands Finance AI Capabilities With Developer Studio and Agentic Toolkit

OneStream

OneStream, at its Splash User Conference held in Orlando, launched two solutions focused on advancing enterprise finance development processes and speeding up AI-based workflows: OneStream Developer Studio and Agentic Finance Toolkit. According to the vendor, the new functionality is meant to increase accessibility for building finance applications as well as enable companies to leverage agentic AI workflows with increased governance and control.

This development can be attributed to a recent trend in enterprise software towards AI-powered application development that allows users to create and personalize apps through natural language prompts and AI copilots as opposed to relying only on specialist developers.

“Enterprise software development has traditionally been limited to highly trained and specialized users working inside closed systems,” said Drew Shea, EVP, AI & Product Engineering, OneStream. “Developer Studio opens this up, giving organizations the freedom to build with the AI developer tools they already know like Claude Code and Cursor. This allows for accelerated development with AI and brings more people into the process of building Finance solutions.”

OneStream Developer Studio enables finance teams and developers to work within familiar development environments while integrating AI-assisted coding tools into their workflows. The desktop-based platform converts OneStream business rules and workspace assemblies into native .NET project files, allowing teams to use preferred IDEs, source control systems, and CI/CD processes before synchronizing updates back into OneStream environments.

The platform is compatible with software development tools like Visual Studio Code, Cursor, and JetBrains Rider, as well as AI coding companions, which include GitHub Copilot and Cursor AI. Furthermore, it offers compatibility with the source code control platforms Git, Azure DevOps, and SVN.

Apart from offering Developer Studio, OneStream has unveiled another platform dubbed the Agentic Finance Toolkit under the overall Agentic Finance Layer. According to the company, the toolkit is meant to facilitate connections between various third-party AI agents, for example, ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini, to financial operations without compromising on the enterprise governance, permission, and monitoring requirements.

It contains components such as the semantic finance layer, orchestration service, monitoring service, and MCP Finance that permit AI-driven systems to interact safely with finance data and workflows. The Agentic Finance Layer seeks to enable enterprises to make a transition from the traditional financial planning model that is done in periodic intervals to one based on real-time financial decisions using AI assistance.

OneStream‘s unveiling of the Agentic Finance Layer highlights how the finance technology companies are now positioning AI as an operational layer rather than an automated system for greater participation in development efforts by all stakeholders.
