Anterior Introduces Symbolic Reasoning Framework to Improve Healthcare AI

Anterior

Anterior announced the development of an open-source framework known as symbolic-reasoning, which is aimed at facilitating artificial intelligence solutions to utilize complex clinical policies and increase transparency and audibility of their decisions. Clinician-driven AI company developed a framework that uses Symbolic Reasoning Graphs (SRGs) to eliminate potential inconsistencies that may occur in understanding healthcare guidelines by large language models. The framework transforms clinical policies into executable rules that will be reviewed and validated in advance by healthcare professionals.

At the next stage, AI models analyze the particular data collected from patient medical records, whereas a deterministic process implements the logic of the defined policy.”AI has enormous potential to eliminate unnecessary administrative work in healthcare, but that potential depends on being able to trust how these systems reach their conclusions,” said Anuj Iravane, AI Lead at Anterior. “Clinical guidelines are complex, and much of the expertise required to apply them lives in the judgment and experience of clinicians. We built Symbolic Reasoning Graphs to make that expertise explicit, so AI systems can follow the same agreed-upon rules consistently and show exactly how they arrived at a recommendation.”
