GroupSense Awarded Patent for Systems and Methods for Detecting and Remedying Theft of Data

GroupSense

GroupSense, a digital risk protection services (DRPS) company, announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a patent for their systems and methods for detecting and remedying the theft of data. The patent covers GroupSense’s approach to finding and removing stolen client data from the deep, dark, and open web.

GroupSense’s patented research and removal method reduces the risk of cybersecurity incidents, breaches, and ransomware by taking stolen data off the dark web before threat actors can use it to hurt an organization. This patented technology gives GroupSense a significant advantage in the fight against cyber crime.

“We are thrilled to receive this patent, which validates our comprehensive approach to cybersecurity,” said Adam Bregenzer, chief technology and product officer at GroupSense. “This patent further proves our ability to proactively protect our clients from cyber attacks; preventing business interruption, revenue loss, and reputational damage.”

While finding stolen data on the web is part of any digital risk protection service, it’s not enough to just alert organizations to illicit online activity. This patent reinforces the importance of driving digital risk mitigation and tangible outcomes from the negative business outcomes associated with cybersecurity incidents. By removing data from its source, GroupSense goes a step beyond competitors by eliminating the risk of threat actors misusing or reselling that data to other actors instead of just alerting the victim.

GroupSense combines automated and human reconnaissance to deliver customer-specific intelligence to improve enterprise cybersecurity. Among the services GroupSense offers are Digital Risk Protection, Election Threat Protection, Executive Protection and Ransomware services.

GroupSense is a digital risk protection services company that delivers customer-specific intelligence that dramatically improves cybersecurity and fraud-management operations. Unlike generic cyber intelligence vendors, GroupSense uses automated and human reconnaissance to create finished intelligence that maps to each customer’s specific digital business footprint and risk profile. This enables customers to immediately use GroupSense’s intelligence to reduce enterprise risk, without requiring additional processing or management by overstretched security and fraud-prevention teams.
