Telecommunications leader AT&T has entered into an agreement to significantly expand its deployment of D-Wave Quantum Inc.’s quantum computing technologies across its global network operations, accelerating high-intensity compute tasks and operational efficiencies. Building upon early implementation efforts where D-Wave’s quantum annealing technology dramatically slashed network optimization processing times from approximately one hour to under 15 seconds AT&T will layer these advanced compute capabilities directly into its agentic AI systems to power critical operational workflows like outage detection, traffic management, technician routing, and long-term network build planning.
